Been some meltdowns at casa de baluka as well--covid fallout has been creating tears and tension with the extended family. The last week or so has been busy and particularly unpleasant. TSD does wonders for my sanity--30DC in particular. Solid people provide solid footing, and you are a part of that for me as well--thanks for all you do, and keep on keeping on. :)

That's fantastic news! I tend to like my stuff to look "lived in", but a brush like that I'd want to keep pristine ;) :D

    My friend is a perfectionist.
The repair has just a cosmetic target.
Something about to prevent color changing of the wood in the spot.
The Olive wood has no problem with water, but it gets dark.
It's about the natural oil in the wood.

Continuing prayers for you, Gary. TSD is my home forum, and I always look forward to sharing and reading updates. After finally joining the 30DC last month, the enjoyment I get from the optimism, friendship and comradery here is just on another level. Thanks, Gary for being a part of that.

Minnesota is known for its friendly demeanor. And yes, @wristwatchb, Clubman is still in my life, but I need to splash it on my FOREHEAD as well as face&neck...Mask kinda blocks things.

    Friday's Shave

    1959 Gillette Fatboy (E4)
    Gillette SP Black (2)
    Omega 11126
    Mitchell's Wool Fat
    Irisch Moos

Late shave today as I missed my morning window. After failing to remember my usual Fat Friday last week, I made sure to get it in today. The lather today from MWF was on par with some of the best I have gotten from it before. Since I haven't used it in two weeks, I decided to bloom the puck while in the shower, and that seemed to help. Excellent, relaxing 2 passes for a DFS finish. Irisch Moos as the closer is one of the favorites in my collection.

Gorgeous photo, Andrew! Can’t beat a Fatboy Wool Fat Friday shave! Blooming works well for bowl lathering the Fat! A nice dry paste is the way to go for face lathering!

    The Emperor Strikes Back

    Gear
    • Razor: Linuxguile Lupo
    • Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium (6)--man, will the shaves ever stop?
    • Brush: The JOmegan Boar
    • Soap: Stirling Texas on Fire (prepared and chilled with ice water)
    • Menthol: Stirling Frost Drops
    • AS: Avon Wild Country (1 Frost Drop)
    • Balm: Stirling Glacial Unscented--called an audible and opted not to use the balm today, seeing as I just didn’t feel I needed it.
      • Called a 2nd audible and applied 1 small drop to a slightly wet hand. Because I wanted to.

    The Shave
Started shave stick to face, and lathered from there. I’ve been getting solid results doing it this way for the past week, and really enjoy it. Turns out my face isn’t quite as sensitive as I thought. I will probably go back to bowl lathering Stirling soaps simply because it’s easier and less messy when you’ve got a softish soap in a shave stick. If this was a triple milled soap, I’d definitely be applying shave stick directly to face, though.

3 passes with nary a touch up. These days, that tends to mean BBS if I’m using one of my 3 DE’s. No irritation.

    Enjoy your weekend, everybody! :D

Chilling TexasOnFire with ice water. You might as well say "I love you, I never want to see your face again!" :Animatedfrozensmily:I see you're calling audibles now also(I'm known to).
