    July 13 Shave of the Day

    Good morning guys! It's Mad Max Monday today!

    Traditional Straight Razor Shave #188

    Max Sprecher 10/8 Half Hollow Barber's Notch
    Catie's Bubble's Tuxedo Knot Brush
    Stirling Sandalwood SS and AS

    I was looking forward to shaving my 44 hr growth this morning with my Mad Max! I wetted my face with the Catie's Bubble brush and then I whipped up some nice wet, creamy lather and applied it to my face. I have to say this brush is a pleasure to use. It's soft and it really is easy to use. This is my 6th shave with the Mad Max and I have to say it is my best one. 2.5 passes gave me a nice, close comfortable shave without irritation or wounds. I would classify it as an IBSS+++ or a BBS-. Everytime I shave with the Mad Max, it feels like I am not shaving the whiskers, but of course, I am. I really enjoyed this razor and I am glad that I own it. Finished this shave with a double dose of the Stirling Sandalwood aftershave.     I get at least 10 or more from the Proline P-30, but at best 4-5 from the Feather Super.

    It is that, Tim. I find though that while 3x milled soaps are fine, I don't like them better than tallow(like what you have with Stoylin and Central Texas Soaps, among others). Yet they(3x)do what is asked of them, I must admit.

    Superb shave, Gary and good afternoon!
    Nice shaves! I have hit my nostril with a straight doing a fool's pass so I empathize with you. You probably had something on your mind and lost your focus for that split second. I wouldn't call it a rookie mistake.
