i enjoy bbs shaves.they come most easily for me with the gillette new series razors of various types.they seem to have the best blade exposure and smoothness combined.they will get you if you are sloppy with your technique.they were designed with carbon blades as normal but shave awesome with stainless blades.early techs or brit versions give me similar results but require more passes for me,which could increase irritation.i suspect less blade exposure in the tech series razors.near bbs is acceptable for work shaves as i now shave daily.as a guy who came here to improve my shave regimen from carts i have achieved my goal.bbs shaves daily with gillettes instead of crap shaves from carts for 30 odd years.gillettes are blade holders with a bit of a safety net built in: the guard.the new has the best exposure for me as it works with my technique and it gives predictable results.what more could i ask for..i hang out here now more to be a cast member and cheer on others as they go through their shave journey.i wish everyone well with their straights/shavettes/se adventures.i will post my shaves from here on in but will concentrate my time on my gillette adventures.been a blast gents..

July 14 SOTA Good evening guys! Shavette Shave #175 Dovo Shavette Rockwell 1/2 DE Blade (5) Omega Pro 49 Boar Brush Stirling Sandalwood SS and AS Well, I still look good without shaving after 32 hrs, but I wanted to shave. The Omega 49 did a great job, but it shed one bristle. The Dovo shavette really gives a great shave for me nearly everytime. Did my normal amount of passes for an IBSS+. Splashed on the aftershave and no burn was evident. It was another nice, comfortable, smooth shave. Have a great evening guys!

I don't hate it at all. It's a very good soap. Left my face feeling dry was actually my only complaint...but so does MdC.
I hope you keep posting, Gary. I don't think the majority of the 30DC participants want to use straights. Not even close.
I never thought of you as a showoff Gary. Every one has their own razor preference and I find the knowledge that every one brings is worthwhile. I have learned plenty about Gillettes from you and I am grateful for it. Your contributions were valuable here. You are truly appreciated.
