  3. Oh, and just now I noticed your soap of same name. Winning combo, I'm sure.

  4. Awesome shave, Jeff! I don't know about holding off stropping for 20 shaves. The guy must have a very fine beard to be able to get away with it or the steel must be very tough. When you shave with a straight, the edge becomes wavy so that it loses its ability to shave efficiently and comfortably. Employing proper stropping technique will make the edge straight once again. It's good practice to strop your razor before every shave.
  5. It's great to have a marvelous shave to start your day, Maestro! May the rest of the day be terrific!
  6. :thanks:

  7. Hate to break it to you, but you and I are elderly! In my case, I still have a babyface. Lol!

    Here's how it shakes:

    60-69 is young elderly

    70-79 is mid elderly

    80-89 is old elderly

90+ OMG I'm still here elderly
  8. Great shave report and photo, Jeff!
Have you considered "swapping" your canceled Wolfman order over to a Max Sprecher order yet? I can see it coming....just a mater of time. ;)
  9. Ok Gary, now you are showing off! Lol! Awesome gear, pic and shave. Everyday you shave like a king because you use King Gillette razors and no one here can say that my friend.

  12. Yes, Jeff would get the Max Sprecher 10/8 Half Hollow Spanish Spike with Mother of Pearl scales. Of course, he would add file work on the spine, upper tang and the monkey tail to boot.
  13. I don’t plan on holding off for 20 shaves, but I’ll continue shaving until it tugs!
  14. Great looking shave, Keith. The razor's scales seem like they could be a "fancy" material.

  15. I won’t be getting a Max Sprecher, too over the top for me, but have decided that I will make one new straight razor purchase. Every other razor I’ve collected has been through barter. I really like the look of Bluesman blades, and being a jazz fan, I suspect I’ll buy one of Victor’s razors eventually.
  16. thank you Joe,good morning..:)..
  17. Awesome shave and photo, Jim! Makes me think of being on a Caribbean coast somewhere.

  19. Thank you, Andrew!
I've never been on a Caribbean coast before but it does sound like a huge upgrade from where I'm at right now.

  20. Don’t really care for the look of the Sprechers, Bruce. Now Bluesman blades are a different story. My son, Ben owns two of Victor’s blades and loves them. Ben’s been a custom knife collector and amateur knife builder for about 20 yrs. He knows his way around a piece of steel, and recommended one of his razors when and if I ever get off the dime and spend real money on a straight. Victor’s blade forging technique is apparently rather involved and yields a very tough blade wth a Rockwell hardness around 62 or 63 on average.
