July 16th Razor: H&S Co NO75 LE Blade: Gillette Platinum (2) Brush: Heritage Collection C-MON Pre-shave: PAA Rabid Banana Cube Soap: B&M Clusterfig PAA Galactic witch hazel Stirling Glacial balm AS: B&M Clusterfig Good morning! Excellent shave to start the day. Three passes for near BBS. Nearly silent alum. I went with a steep angle shave this morning. The NO75LE doesn't seem to care. Shallow or steep it provides a smooth easy shave. Have a great day! Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Looks like you're gonna get your wish - fairly soon. Honestly, even if the OC geometry has been changed to make it more efficient, it's doubtful that I'll order one. The Vector is quite efficient as it is, even though it feels mild. The same holds true with the Sabre L1. For a brief moment, the L2 plate was considered. However I'm pleased as punch with the L1 plate and the temptation has passed. Maybe - maybe - if one came available on a BST for a steal.
I most likely will not buy one either. I have enough ac razors already. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thank you, Jeff! I like Clusterfig. I enjoy the scent and performance. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Their soaps sound decent, and if they're in the "Stirling range" then yeah - plenty good. I got a heckuva deal on a Red Tip and a Rolls razor - both for $11.00. I tried the Rolls once, and it does shave, however the blade needs to be honed (it's a little rough during use). The Red Tip has probably only gotten used three-ish times since. Like yours, it's in decent condition, aside from some of the paint chipping on the red bottom. There's so much debate over which paint color is most accurate, so I've decided to leave it alone. One of these days I probably will end up PIFing or trading it. It's a nice shaver, but would see more use with someone who appreciates TTO-style razors.
Thank you, Bruce! My reflection really does detract from the image. One day I really should set my DSLR up on a tripod so I can stand off to the side. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
July 16, 2020 Enoch Feather Pro Semogue Torga C5 Boar Savonniere du Moulin Fine Italian Citrus Aftershave Inspired by @Primotenore I decided to pull out the Savonniere du Moulin shave soap. Like Joseph mentioned it was all the rage a year or two back. I guess the novelty of having donkey milk as an ingredient helped spur things along. The soap is fairly easy to load but I have found it works best for me to really overload the brush. The scent of the soap is just clean and fresh. Three passes and touch ups caught the baby. The soap did have enough residual slickness to buff my jawline and lower right neck. I did find the soap left my face dry. Many say MdC is drying but I found this soap to be even more so. The Savonniere du Moulin is over $20 for 100 grams and comes in a useless container. The AB soap I used yesterday is $21 for 200 grams and comes in a beautiful glass container, works as good or better and has a better post shave feel. I am happy to use both but I know which one I would rebuy today. I used the PAA Chel as post shave followed by mentholated which hazel and Fine Italian Citrus. My face feels smooth, cold and hydrated and I am smelling good. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.
I just look forward to your super pics! You represent Color-ado very well! Awesome gear and shave, Jim!
