Rec’d this razor in trade for a Gillette SS Black Tip. Appears to be in decent shape. It is a Lord razor and apparently dates from the mid 20s. It was described as coffin style design. Could anyone explain what this means. And is it possible to have a 13/16 blade or does that reflect sharpening/honing wear?
  2. Maybe the shape of the scales though I’ve never heard of that shape described as ‘coffin style’. But the boxes razors come in are frequently referred to as ‘coffins’, probably because the old English boxes were indeed shaped like some coffins.

It’s difficult to tell from the images of the spine, but I’d guess that it’s lost about 1/32” of width.

I liked the scales, and the blade looked salvageable, if needed. The scales are in perfect shape. The blade needs a little work, at the heel, and needs some cleaning up, but for $14 total, I view it as a win.

Another $14 razor, shipped. It is in pretty good shape, but is dull as a butter knife.

This was PIF'ed to me by @Karl G . Thank You. It needs a new bevel set. Other than that, it looks to be in great shape.
Time to set up the stones.

  6. I was watching that razor. Was hoping it was available when I got paid yesterday. I'm glad it is in good hands though.

  7. Thanks, It needs a touch up, so my son who’s an amateur knife-maker and straight shaver of many years is going to take care of it for me.

    Full Hollow

I think I did OK on this deal. It cost me $31.00. It was labeled wrong, on Ebay, and it was hard to see who the razor was made by. I couldn't find anything on WINOVA. But, I could barely read Michels, which told me everything I needed to know. He made C-MON razors, which are some of the best out there. The scales are in perfect shape, and the bluing was almost perfect, on the tang.
Anyone familiar with, or have a WINOVA??
