You're a strong man.
When I tried the V2, with original handle, I shaved twice the first day.
Too weak to wait ...


Lucky me, I find it unbalanced.
And too heavy, with my rearmost grip.
And the cannon like new handle design helped to stop me.
BUT, It allowed to make some nice pics ... and a good experience.
Now I love my V1 even more!!!

Very nice report and everything Jeff! I love my Feather AC DX. Always thought on the Kai Captain Excelia....but that's some coin I'd rather put toward more straights/kamis (in the works ).

 

Congratulations on your BBS straight shave, Jeff! I understand your negativity toward stropping and honing. It's one of the reasons why 99% of men won't delve into traditional straights and some men go into shavette shaving. Personally, I don't mind stropping because it takes me a minute and I consider it the easier aspect of straight shaving. With 15 straights, I may have to hone razors maybe once every 2 to 3 years if I rotate them one shave at a time. Otherwise, it would be once a year or when I feel a razor needs to be refreshed. The good thing is that I don't have to reset bevels and go through a whole progression, but just refresh on crox (strop) or maybe use 3 grits on the lapping films instead of 6. In reality, the time I spend on stropping and honing is not much in the overall scheme of things.

 

Awesome Fougère Friday setup and shave Joseph! Working on mine....lately it's been early as a farmer up to work....mid day shave and post, more afternoon work after a nice break/refresh. Today's no different.

Thanks, Andrew, as resident curmudgeon, I read a FB post putting down this great razor! My response was apparently a bit too much for the delicate sensibilities of the writer who reported me as a troll to that razor forum’s admin. Fortunately, I’d been a member much longer than the writer and only received the equivalent of a finger wag from my long-time shave buddy, the admin. Then again my comment about having under shirts older than the writer was probably uncalled for!
