Another great report and photo today, Jeff! I learned something today regarding the Feather razors. I never knew there was the AS-D1, or that they made a change and "upgraded" it to the widely know AS-D2.

    Friday's Shave

    1959 Gillette Fatboy (E4)
    Personna Platinum Chrome (1)
    Turn-N-Shave 'Party Brush'
    Mitchell's Wool Fat Shaving Soap
    PAA Black Bot Aftershave

Another Fat Friday in the books. After two days of using XTG/ATG hybrid passes on my lower neck trouble zone, I decided to give it a rest for today's shave. Luckily no ingrown hairs have appeared, but later after yesterday's shave, the area started to feel a bit tender. If I continue this with trial strategy, I may only do it a few times per week and not on back to back shaves. That way, I will get some surprise BBS results and not tear up my neck. The red dots from yesterday are fading.

2 smooth passes today for a DFS+ result. The MWF provided a much needed pleasant post shave.

Good morning guys! It's Favorite Friday Shave Day!

I usually don't shave at the 24 hr mark, but I have little soap left so that I can finish it on a light stubble. Brought out a favorite brush and it really did a nice job with the lather. The lather was very slick, but it wasn't my usual thickness because I had very little soap. However, I was still able to get a nice, close, comfortable shave without irritation and booboos with 2 passes. Didn't do any touchups or the extra half-pass because I was out of soap and the shave was good enough. The Sandalwood SS has been put to rest with the matching aftershave not far behind. Splashed the Sandalwood aftershave to end this eventful shave. I was given a puck of Fine Italian Citrus by Danny @Hembree that I only used once. I will place it in Stirling empty container and will use it from time to time. It did give a nice, creamy lather so I am looking forward to using it. Have a nice day fellas 20200717_104057.jpg 20200717_110314.jpg 20200717_104057.jpg 20200717_110314.jpg

Great looking Fatboy, Andrew! I admire the excellent condition of your shaving tools. Sounds like a winning BBS strategy to me! Just can’t beat the Fat! I liked the Haslinger, but nothing compares to the Fat for sheer slickness and post skin feel!

Thank you Bruce. I received the brush on 1/24/20 and have only used it 7-10 times or so. It really is a super nice brush.

Thank you Jeff. I am very fortunate in having a wife that enjoys all the different scents and even picks stuff out for me.

Glad you enjoyed it, Bruce! It’s truly a superb razor, and did represent a real improvement over its predecessor.

You really are, although my wife really can’t help her fragrance allergy! I had 4 decades with a fragrance-positive spouse; I have no regrets.

Thank you, Jeff! Tomorrow evening, I have a social get-together so I am going to honor Gary @brit with a Gillette Fatboy shave. I am probably going to use my 1959 model.

Thank you, Jeff! I try to live by the adage: take care of that you got...
Both MWF and Haslinger have great, but different, post shave feels for me. Haslinger has a creamier lather, but you are correct on the slickness of MWF. They are two soaps that I will always try to keep in the rotation.
