Pretty, Gary! New LC on a ball end handle? Since I’m always wrong, please correct!

 

That's a cool story, Gary! There are lots of folks who end up with razors, many times passed down to them from relatives, who never consider using them. It's cool that curiosity got the best of you - and bam! It turned into a hobby.

You're exactly right, Joe. There's no one-upmanship in this group. And really - that's the whole point of this thread. It's all about learning to get the best shaves using whatever gear you have. Once again, that all comes down to technique - not the gear itself.

I can only imagine the consequences of stating on other forums just as good of a shave can be had with a popsicle stick razor as a Wolfman...

Congrats on the new Feather, James. As Jeff mentioned, with a narrow gap, it's quite easy to "lose" the correct angle. My ears are attuned to the particular sounds my razors make when cutting, so I can easily tell when I have found the "sweet spot". You will too, and the razor will afford you a BBS shave every time.
