Great condition on that Type C, Andrew! Congratulations on the BBS shave. You may be on the way to consistent BBS shaves! In my case it was learning how to shave with a safety razor around my Adams apple. I used to get extremely inflamed and irritated skin post shave. As my technique improved, the inflammation lessened. That’s a thing of the past now. Hope that’s the case for you as well!

Thanks. Clint, it’s much better shaver since Ben reset the bevel and rehoned it for me. Honestly. I don’t know how much it needed it. I do know that he recently spent a fortune on Naniwa? and coticule stones. I think he was just looking to take them out for a test run. The razors are noticeably sharper!

Thanks, Jeff! I hope it's the case too.
I've not had issues with getting irritation free BBS in other areas besides the lower neck. I think with using ordered passes of (1)WTG, (2)XTG/ATG hybrid, and (3)WTG in the trouble zone and eliminating the full on ATG pass have been the keys to the successful trial.

Thanks, Andrew! My oldest son is eager for me to join him in his straight razor obsession. I’m content to use them as I learn as long as he’ll provide and support their maintenance, which I want no part of.

That’s great Andrew! I guess it’s just each of us learning our own unique beard growth pattern. Sounds simple, but it sure isn’t.

Gorgeous tools, Andrew! Great progress on your neck!
I tagged him yesterday with no response. Hopefully all is well with him and his family.

Terrific shave Jeff! By the way, are you keeping an exact record on your straight razor count? If so, how many straight shaves have you completed?

I have only tried one soap that had a Tobacco/Vanilla scent and it was a sample of Moon Soaps that was piffed by Maestro. I liked it, but I usually like brighter notes that are in Satsuma, Coconut and Lime, etc.

Nice shave Andrew! The Schick C is quite the novelty razor.

Yesterday’s shave that I didn’t get around to posting:

    Razor - GEM Damaskeene
    Blade - CVS Carbon
    Soap - Stirling Electric Sheep
    Brush - Stirling Kong
    A/S - Stirling Electric Sheep
    IMG_1448.jpeg

Quick and easy was on the menu for today.

    Razor - Blackland Vector
Blade - Kai something or other
    Brush - Thater 4125
    Cream - C.O. Bigelow
Post - Stirling Orange Chill Witch Hazel

Screw the bowl. I smeared some Bigelow on my face and went into a face lather with the uber-soft Thater, then got down to business with the Vector. Super shave. One tiny weeper that went away before I was done. C.O. Bigelow is a great performing cream at a low price.

Honing stones and coticules are expensive. It's why I use lapping films to hone my razors.

Agreed. It took a long time, however I stumbled onto an approach that works for me. Sometimes hair grows in weird directions...
