    Thanks, Joe! I find the history behind the creation of Schick Repeating Razors fascinating. After his experience with WWI, Col Jacob Schick was infatuated with the mechanics behind magazine fed rifles. That is what led him to creating this razor design and subsequent injector razor design using standalone magazines instead of being built into the handle.

    Terrific shaves, Bruce! I could have used some Electric Sheep this morning to keep away the gnats and mosquitoes while working in the yard. :D

    I am familiar with the history of how Col Schick developed the razors. However, thanks for sharing it for some of the other members that may not know about the razors history.

    Awesome looking razor, Gary! I wish Gillette US had continued to make two-piece razors for a longer period.

    did gillette u.s ever make a 2 piece razor?thought all single rings and the like were 3 piece..the brit ones the twist knob assembly doesn't come out..

    Very very nice Bruce! Some of the days I don't get to posting are like that.....just get it done without all the extras. Nice that the hardware and software from wet shaving allows that easier than the goo and cruddy cart systems which always made me regret being in a hurry (usually in a payback of skin irritation).

    I'm not sure, I don't own a single ring that twists at the bottom of the handle. I guess I was referencing more the baseplate being fused to the handle.

    2011 R41/Gillette 7 O'Clock (Black)
    SMN Patchouli AS
    Wasn't going to shave today, but I found myself with 30 minutes before having to leave for work.
    One would not normally consider the 2011 R41 a razor to use when short on time, but I did. Took a finger-full of the SMN and smeared it on; worked up a heckuva lather with the Simpson Synthetic and got a magnificent two-pass shave. 3 years ago, trying this would have meant, at the very least a few weepers, but no more. I rule the R41. The SMN Patchouli smells great. Verdict out on the SWMBOSOA...
