    **-still don't know for sure, however I simply put the question to Google, and the year 1929 jumped out at me. I've heard that to be the year it changed from mouthwash to after-shave, so I'm going with that year until I can be more sure. The name itself was introduced in 1917, that much I know.

    It's more fruity and less birch-woody than Aventus. I'd say it's in the ballpark but not as close as the Fine Platinum aftershave, which you are correct, is pretty close (but not as concentrate/rich as the real deal). Aventus is an EDP, so it's got a more 'rich' center to the scent than the other products. I bought an Aventus oil knockoff and sent it to Luckgirl Boutique to make the deodorant. It came out 'okay'. The deodorant ingredients add something to the scent and that's the only reason it's not as close as it should be. People often forget that the ingredients in products like soaps, deodorants and creams have some of their own scent properties that can alter the fragrance oil you put in them. Regardless, I love my Aventus set. It's really cool.
