    Love the blue theme!

    Iwasaki are the 'it' razors for Japanese straights. The western grind ones are hard to find and bring crazy $$$. It is one of the few razors I would like to add to the den but if I can find in the condition I want at a sane price :confused:

    Thursday Shave: All this talk about Japanese razors influenced me to go with another JWest razor, Nichiri a 6/8 very hollow ground razor. Unfortunately I could not capture the etching and there is a finger print on the blade. I did a repeat of the MdC with liquid lanolin, M-bomb and 2 band Thäter brush. The shave was good, no complaints even if was not as close as yesterday's.

    Good evening guys!

    Ok, I was going to wait until tomorrow to shave, but I changed my mind. I want to do a Fantastic Friday shave and want at least a 36 to 40 hr stubble for it.
    Anyway, I finally got this soap dialed in because I am getting great lathers. It's peaky, cushiony and slick without hardly ever effort and very little load. Now, I realize that I have this gelatinous mess, but I just have the dab the brush once without swirling and I am good to go. The only caveat that I will make is that my face needs to be drenched with water before I face lather. Hopefully, when I start on the new puck that I will get the same results. I am planning on using my new puck of Cryogen and see if I can get similar results. I just needed a 2 pass shave to give me an IBSS+ shave, but I did catch right under the middle of my nose. As I was coming in straight, I landed a little too hard before I did my scooping stroke and got a tiny nick. Pencil cleared it up and my mug still looks ok with no sign of the error. Finished with the cool, matching aftershave. Great evening shave and I feel refreshed! Now, I have to decide which traditional straight razor will I be using for my Fantistic Friday shave. It's a toss up between my 7/8 F Herder (Ace of Spades) or my 15/16 Wostenholm near wedge. I have all day tomorrow to decide. Have a great evening guys! 20200722_150653.jpg 20200722_150653.jpg
