  1. Thanks, Andrew. Usually, when I don't have ample time for a shave, I simply forgo it. Yesterday was a different kettle of fish.

  7. Thanks, Jeff!
I checked, and it's the Kai Captain Sharpblade. Maybe they've been discontinued, because they don't seem to be very plentiful at any vendors. Mine came in a sampler pack from tryablade. I don't think that blade is in the sampler anymore. It's decent enough, yet nothing special. I won't go out of my way to find more. I need to try the Schick Proline. If it's anything like the B-20 (injector blade), it'll probably be the blade used in the Vector going forward.

The Blackbird is my favorite DE to use. The Vector very well may be my favorite razor, period.

Agreed on the Bigelow. Many say that it's the exact same as Proraso green. Some disagree. Either way - great cream, great price.
  8. Great shave, Joe! Glad everything went well for the party too.

Only four shaves in with the AS-D2 but so far I'm impressed. Very smooth razor.

  16. The AS-D2 is certainly a great looking razor. You seem to have dialed it in very quickly.

This week is going by very quickly. I went with the SV Felce Aromatica. This soap works great for me and the scent is simply intoxicating. The "Soap Destroyer" made short work of whipping up a wonderful slick lather. Three passes and touch ups caught the baby with ease. The big bonus was the operator didn't screw anything up. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.
  18. Wasn't bad at all getting it dialed in. My mistake the first shave was not keeping it at the correct angle throughout each stroke. Not the smallest sweet spot of all my razors but it's close.

    July 23rd

    Proraso PS - Red
Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements Switchback 400 w/26mm TGN 2-band badger
Stirling SS & AS - Barbershop
    Feather AC DX (Kamisori style)
    Feather Super Pro

Little experiment today, @Bama Samurai style. 1 pass shave, however re-lathered the lower right neck for concentrated, super skin stretching touch up. Not bad, DFS+ overall, still the ever elusive jawline. Super slick lather from Stirling's Barbershop as expected. This TGN 2 band badger is a great knot for me, works easily for overflowing bowl lather, face swirling or painting. No lather hog at all. Love using the AC DX, quick, nimble and precise, but unforgiving with any blade...particularly with it's own Super Pro blade. 1 set down issue on the base of the nose, easily dispatched with the matching Stirling after shave splash.

Hope everyone has a Terrific Thursday!
