Very nice shave Paul. Agreed, the AstroTurf does like to give the “ground crew” a hard time.

Thank you Joe. I hope you have a great day.

Thank you Joe. I hope you get to enjoy the pool today. Looks like we will have thunderstorms rolling through the area all day and weekend.

Well said, Joe. . As I've said to others here, maybe it's trying to hint I should once again grow a mustache. I said, yes, when pigs fly. You may have seen the reply to that-I forget by who-showing a flying pig!!

    Good morning gents!

    Straight Shave #189
Wostenholm 15/16 Near Wedge Sq Pt
    Jayaruh #386 Silvertip Badger Brush
Chiseled Face Cryogen SS, (New Puck) and AS

Last night, I did a dry run on the new puck to see if my new technique of drenching my face with the brush, squeezing out all the excess water and dotting the brush a few times. Well, it works! I don't need to swirl to get enough lather for 3 passes. Todat, I used a different brush and repeated my technique. Did get enough soap for 3 passes, but it was not as voluminous as yesterday's trial lather. That's ok because I got enough slickness for my razor to glide on my face to do its job. This Wosty near wedge is a real nice shaver, but I have only used it about 8 to 10 times since I bought it about a yr ago. I should use it nore often because it really gives close confortable shaves. Also, heavier grinds are more forgiving than full hollows. Today's shave was no exception. 2.5 passes on a 38 hr growth gave me a BBS minus shave without any errors. Splashed on the matching aftershave to get another nice menthol kick to end this great shave. I will continue to use this new loading technique to see if I can prevent this puck from turning into another gelatinous mess. Therefore, I am going to continue using this puck for the next 9 shaves to see if my method works. If it does, then I will say up my review regarding Cryogen. Take care guys! 20200723_210647.jpg 20200723_210647.jpg

Thanks Jim! I almost forgot how nice this razor shaves. Unfortunately, I treat it like a lost stepchild because I don't show it the love it definitely deserves.

Barrister and Mann Bay Rum~~Simpson Milk Churn~~1908 Gillette SR/Sharp Star~~St. Johns
Seemed like a Bay Rum kind of day.
    Churned up a luscious
load o' lather with the Simpson.
    Observe:
Superiorly slick and sumptuous sans air bubbles.
Sharp Star into the Single Ring.
The 112 year-old razor is quite aggressive; plenty of blade-feel.
It's a nimble tool, which can reach all of the awkward spots on the face.
Finished with St. Johns Bay Rum and all I can say is I am glad I did not pay full-price for this juice.

Thanks Joe! I like shaving with vintage razors that are 100 yrs old. It's truly amazes me that these razors still can give great shaves.
