    When you get to be as old as me, you'll be grateful when you wake up and something hurts. It's one of the ways us old farts know we're still alive. :cool:

    I've been dealing with chronic pain for over ten years. I've yet to be grateful for it. What I'll be grateful for is the day I manage to move back to AZ so the pains go away.

    Yeah, that was a coping statement, rather than one that could actually make any sense. Pain bites, no matter if you're young, old or somewhere between. The chronic varieties might be the worst. It's weird to look back at decades and think that it's been like this for a very, very long time. Depressing, actually...

    I try to tell myself I've got lots and lots of character now (sure, it's all bad character, but who am i to complain!). ;)

    Now that is my kind of coping! :rofl ;)

    Normally, I'll just cope/keep quiet, but this backache is weird, for me at least. Kind of like a kink (does your mind ever get out of the gutter, Jim? :p) complicated by the "gets-worse-the-older-I-get" girl pains.

    Great, now my blood sugar. Thought I was getting really sleepy, until I tried to get up and felt heavy. Ok, cookies, not too many, but enough, hopefully. Ugghhh...hate the wait to see. Usually I end up over doing.

    Yup, mine's always high too... I've got to really push it to drop under 100. Late nights working - 8 hours after lunch - that's about the only time I start getting way low. If I'm careful, I'm always between 100 and 150, and that's not too bad.

    I'd die if I went off my meds.

    It'll be 22 years this Christmas that I've been dealing with the joy that is diabetes.

    I'm just a Type II, adult onset diabetic. My own stinkin' fault, but easy enough to manage. Metformin, exercise and diet do me pretty well. Living with it from childhood is a different story altogether.
