    i would say straight razors have a broader amount of angles at your disposal with out a safety net in place..muscle memory helps keep the good ones in play with some concentration and care.maintaining a narrow sweet spot with a de can be a challenge as well.as for the shave lasting longer,straights may produce a flatter to the face cut on the whiskers compared to a de because of the cap and guard in the way..maybe some de razors leave an angled hair edge that can be felt sooner as stubble..another theory is the hair expands with the prep and contracts after the shave..i have had shaves that last longer with no real reasons why..yet felt bbs after the shave..

    Exactly, Maestro! A BBS is a BBS independent of the tool that achieved it.

    Thank You, Gents.

    @Keithmax
    After having a true Tanifuji kamisori, I switched to a "mordern" folding one.
    I loved the edge, and when I saw this one I was sure about the feeling.
    As It is ... a great one.
    I enjoy every time.
    The beach is my home, that is my morning view.

    @Droo78
    Great eye. Bravo.
    It's my fav moment of the day.

    Thank you, Bruce, for the support! They’re nice guys over there, just a bit too orthodox for my taste! Every one of the ‘Mentor/moderators’ apparently has bought into the party line. I enjoy shaving, and a BBS is a BBS! Now a VBBS, that’s a horse of a different color!! ;)

    Thanks Jeff! It does look that way, but I still need to complete 8 more shaves to make a conclusive determination on this soap.

    I think the hair and skin type, technique, and the shaver's standard of a good shave also comes inti play.

    We’re of like mind here, Joe! The bottom line is we shave with the tools that bring us pleasure! Some disregard the tool and focus on the soap and accompanying hardware, others of us focus on the tools, and still others the ‘gestalt shave experience itself. Shaving is what we love, regardless of background, age, or education. That, good sir, is the bottom line!

    absolutely..too many variables to nail it down..i have cotton ball tested my bbs shaves with revealingly good results.i also feel the stubble after a day..it tells a tale.some times the whiskers feel sharper than others.especially with milder razors for me,like a tech. razors with more blade exposure shave's seem to last longer,less sharp stubble..or a duller blade perhaps..

    Thank you Jeff. I expect I'll have that Razorock soap for 3 more summers...I think it's been here for 3 as it is.
