Variety of razors, soaps, brushes, etc. is what keeps it a hobby for me. Like you, I have my favorites to use. Generally, it's the way it feels in the hand, the balance, etc.
Because I shave daily, efficiency isn't a huge factor. I'm gonna do the same routine regardless, and still get the same results - so long as I do my job properly.

The only thing is having adopted an older dog, he's going to break my heart a little sooner someday.

    SOTD MONDAY JULY 27, 2020

Very short post today as I’m having a 6 hour infusion for my Rheumatoid Arthritis. Good shave today with the Feather SS Barber’s razor. Three pass (WTG, ATG, XTG) for a DFS + which I pushed into VBBS by finishing up with the Blackland Vector which also sheared away the Dome stubble right down to the skin line. The Feather Super is a terrific shaver. I feel cool, clean and velveteen.

Quite the experiment, David. I hope you find the setting(s) that work best for you.

In my experience my 24 hour growth is about the same every morning regardless of the razor I used the day before.
    Nice, Jeff!
I hope the infusion goes well.
    Thank you, Bruce!

For me it can vary widely, but I don't attribute it to the razor I used. Many people are sure of it though. Open mind.

I couldn't possibly agree more, Joseph. I think some of those guys want to justify to themselves or others that they NEED to spend a ton of money on a particular razor. Hey, if you WANT the razor, and the funds permit - go for it. And just straight up say "I wanted one, so I got one". Maybe it makes them feel more manly if they post "Because of my incredibly masculine stubble, I positively REQUIRE the most aggressive, most expensive, shiniest razor ever made.". Some forums are very clique-y. Unless you're sporting the best, and singing the praises of the high-end stuff, you ain't in.
That's what makes this the best thread, on the best site. Folks of all walks of life, using all sorts of gear without judgement. Plus, we all know the truth (except for those who still think there are cookies ;)).

    Agreed.
The RR German 37 was much more useable and in the end a better shave than their finicky Wunderbar. Price difference a factor of 10.

    Good morning guys!

    Shavette Shave #182
    Dovo Shavette
    Personna Hairshaper Blade (3)
    JR #290 Synthethic Brush
Chiseled Face Cryogen SS and AS

This is my 4th daily shave with Cryogen and I have to say it good one. The Cryogen was still somewhat moist, but that's ok because it's easy to load the brush by lightly dotting it on the puck 3 times. I dip thetips in a cup of water and lather on a dry face and continued adding a little more water. Yes, I am lathering on a dry face. I have to say the lather turned out aesthetically pleasing, and slick. I only needed two passess to get a BBS- shave without any mishaps. Finished with the matching aftershave and I am good to go. Before I forget, I have to say that the cooling effect of this soap does give a nice mild tingling and burning sensation during the shave, especially after the first pass. 4 down, six more shaves to go until my experiment is over. Have a nice day guys! 20200727_101651.jpg 20200727_101651.jpg
