The matching aftershave is a rabbit hole for sure. My issue is I typically finish the soap before I finish the matching aftershave.

Drive by posting.....work has gotten a little off the charts, a few back to back double event 3 day weekends do that from time to time. I'll take it though, beats the alternative...

Received a few extra ferrules for the Switchback 400 last week....first transplant is a 26mm Omega EVO synthetic knot. Nancy Boy SC ....an extremely easy to lather shaving cream, dip the brush in container, quick pass under running water, and you get super lather w/nice face feel, tons of residual slickness for extra pass/buffing. Aroma is pleasant, slightly minty. 2.5 passes with the Drew Dick, one small set down weeper at the base of the nose. DFS+ results. 1 pump of PAA's Star Jelly (unscented, slightly mentholated) followed with Fine's AS. Great refreshing morning ritual. Received the Fine AS after shave yesterday along with a couple donor handles (Simpson T2 & T3). Fine's American Blend...very classic Barbershop aroma.

Aaand, here's a rare report of a shave that didn't involve shavesoap The reason for reporting it is that this was my opener with Osage Rub A.S. The cream was Gillette Foamy Menthol, a nice cold cream with the goodness of Gillette Foamy. One pass, as that is all I do for creams. No cuts/weepers, which is sign of a fine shave. I had to touchup some at Porcupine Alley(area between the nose and upper lip), but I took care of it. I did miss a small area just under my left ear(at the end of the jawline). Ahh, I'll get it tomorrow.

AND NOW.....the Osage. While I felt the cold snap at the beginning, I actually didn't think it was colder than, say, a Stoylin Glacial. The thing I noticed the most is was/is it's SOFTNESS on the skin. Very nice! I doused my face, neck, and forehead with it. And I am convinced that I could use it year-round(with warmer soaps in the wintertime, for instance). Another aspect of this is perhaps I am experienced enough with that "cold snap" feeling(after having used Stoylin Wintergreen, and today's Gillette Foamy Menthol cream, among other zappers)that there may have been a small part of me saying(upon application)"Ahhh, another coldie. But the silk-softness is what I came away with most of all. It'll be a lifetime keeper for me. I'll give the shave a Most Excellent.

 

Very nice looking shave Keith. That razor is a looker. What particularly presents a challenge with this razor? Beautiful watch I must say.
