It is not designed like the patent though. If it was meant to be used in a caged head configuration it would have the rounded portion for the handle to go between the cage. I've never seen a Famex or any of it's derivatives like the S.O.S., Autofix or Razvite designed like that.
Tabac Tuesday's Shave Cold Water Rinse Tabac Shave Soap Jayaruh #414 silvertip Astra 501 (first shave) Astra SP CWR Pinaud Clubman Vanilla This was my first shave with the Astra 501. I got it from Bulgaria. I am told that it was made in Czechoslovakia. It is very similar to the Schick Platinum DE razor. The Tabac Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #414 silvertip brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Astra 501 razor with an Astra SP blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Pinaud Clubman Vanilla AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

SE SOTD,Tue, July 28th 2020 Razor: Gem Featherweight 1st generation- MFG 1950-52 Blade: Gem Personna SS PTFE (2) My favorite blade Soap: Razorock Don Marco- Very nice citrus scent + great lather qualities. Brush: Yaqi Tuxedo knot 24mm with marble handle.- excellent brush for creating lather with soft tips. Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of Aloe vera gel. Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 3 + any pickups. Post shave: Razorock Amici aftershave with witch Hazel + a dollop of Nivea balm. Results : CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + one nick(operator error)=Excellent shave have with my Gem Featherweight 1st generation razor & 2nd use of Gem coated blade at its sharpest pinnacle in blade life.
