This was my first carbon DE blade. The GEMs last a long time, and are very smooth right outta the gate. Today was the third shave with the Treet carbon DE, and it did seem to lose some of its smoothness. It may or may not get a fourth run....
Most Russian blades (Astras, GSBs, etc.), I'll run seven shaves before binning. Most of them could probably go longer if I wanted.

    Great Slim shave, Andrew!
I have the same year of Slim, just 1st quarter. Really should get it out for a shave one of these days...

Tomorrow the soap will meet the fate of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Again, I had a very nice shave this morning after my morning workout. Three passes without incident. Truth be told, I am looking forward to Friday’s shave with a different soap. I miss the variety although shaving with one set up takes the thought process out of the equation.

I think for next month theme I may go with Boar Month. I have about 9 or 10 different boar brushes. They have had a month off. Time to get the into the rotation again, including the new Semogue Torga-C5.

    Stay cool gentlemen.

Thank you Joe! I have to take into consideration that you usually need to soak a boar brush before you load and I didn't want to do it for obvious reasons. However, I used the boar to illustrate that my method will still work.

What a gorgeous razor and brush, Blair! Sorry about the weepers, but seems like decent enough results despite the mishap. We all have those days...

Great to hear the good news, thank the Good Lord.

In the future, please refrain from introducing new hobbies to @jluc. Colorado is running out of secure mountain storage facilities. And don't you dare show him any fountain pens.

Very nice shave, Joe! Are you going to rotate soaps, or pick out another one to stick with to finish off? Good plan for next month too!

Not sure, but I'd probably bet that antics of the Shenanigan Master are contributing to Kathy's recovery.
