Thank you Jeff...and you are so right. I'll be back on the shave soap bandwagon tomorrow. THAT is something you can see and feel, of course!!

I have some of that somewhere. I was going to try to add it to home made hand sanitiser, which I never wound up doing. Would it work a bit diluted as a splash for a small area prone to irritation or better to apply full strength?

That may be the case. I bought the Frostbite at least five years ago. He was making the soap then.

On spot areas, I use it full strength just dabbed on directly. It really helps against scarring. I've also used it mixed with some aloe vera gel for rash/irritations. You may try this way for what you asked me. For cuts (first aid) I also use it full strength. Some articles have said to use it diluted, but I've never had any ill effects from using it full strength.

Andrew, just checked his site. He's still making the soap. I wouldn't recommend it, but it has been a long time since I last used it.

I'm pretty sure his soaps have always been farmed out to the Soap Smooth company. Even says so on his website.

I made an initial order, but am second-guessing my choice. Pretty sure I want a blade gap over 1.00, leaning heavily towards the Darwin handle and fairly certain that I want the OC. The biggest choice is between the WR-1 and WR-2 and the finish.

    July Focus
    [IMG]

    Turtleship Shave Co.~~Simpson CH3~~Fatip Lo Storto/Sharp Star~~Santa Maria Novella
3rd day of the mini-focus with the Sharp Star razor blade.
It's starting to show signs of
degradation in that without buffing, which I am eschewing in this test,
I am barely achieving a DFS.
    First the lather.
Second shave with the Turtle soap (that's my new moniker for it)
and it was a glorious as yesterday.
I used a soaked, but well wrung-out brush and all I can say about the CH3 is that it is a
    LATHER HOG!!!!!

    I literally had to
squeeze out the lather from the knot to get to the good stuff inside.
Once it was on my skin, the rest was a snap.
The Fatip is a really credible razor. Whether or not the slant aspect really provides a "better"
    shave...that's anyone's guess.
Three passes and like I said earlier, just passed the DFS threshold.
Finished once again with the Santa Maria Novella Patchouli aftershave.
This is not really a splash, as it is somewhat viscous.
The scent isn't smack, pow, boom in your face, but refined and subdued, with
medium sillage, albeit long staying power.

    True.
Here's the thing...it's an excuse to get more stuff by adding enough to qualify for free shipping. Sure, you *can* just buy one soap and pay a few bucks for shipping. There's just something about hitting the free shipping threshold that's more satisfying. And, you end up with more goodies - even if it technically costs more.

The same thing holds true with just about all retail. Look at J.C. Penney. Years ago, they tried getting away from doing sales and coupons, by just marking every item down to the "normal" price. It flopped. Consumers are so used to "getting things on sale" even though we really aren't. They artificially inflate the prices, then create a "sale price" (which brings the cost down to what they'd charge anyway) so folks feel like they're getting a deal. They even admitted that.
It cost them money and time to have "sales" - having employees going through the store changing prices constantly and mailing out coupons. They had the right idea, yet it failed miserably. Consumers have been conditioned to shop for sale prices, now they can't stand to pay "regular" price. Even though they are...
