I’m old enough already. I don’t need to pretend I am older.

    Great shave, Joe!
Wonderful gear, photo and recap, Clint!
I haven't given up on my gelled boar yet. I'll give it several more runs at bowl lathering to see if it gets better loading directly off the puck for face lathering. I know your preferred method is face lathering so I don't blame you one bit for swapping knots.
    Fat Friday!
    Nice, Gary!

Ben, my son has 5 graduated Naniwa(?) stones, a two sided stone that says Norton on the side, and a bunch of coticule (?), Barber hone, and two beat up white and brown stones he says are Japanese. He’s an amateur knife-maker, and just finished building himself a forge behind his garage. Two of his three kids are in college, and one is graduating High School this year. His plan is to retire early and get busy building knives and possibly razors. :)

Great shave, Blair! I remember your dedicated safety razor days! You appear to have hopped into the straight razor rabbit hole with both feet. I still haven’t spent a dime on the straights I own. Merely traded safety razors for the ones I have, and was gifted two from my son. Some of the razors you’ve been sporting are gorgeous! You’ve clearly made a serious commitment to straight shaving! Good for you!

Thank you Jim. I am really tempted to harvest the Simpson Trafalgar T3 knot and use it in the Heritage handle. The other option would be a Maggard mixed boar and badger knot.

I have the Maggards badger boar knot, very nice knot. Mine has over thirty uses and still has a bit of scratch to it which I do enjoy.

    Cool!
    Something you can create.

You cannot create cold. Cold is the absence of heat.

    More Max Headroom worthless trivia.

Mark installed one in a brush and is impressed with the knot. The Heritage handle would look good with the mixed knot.

Thanks Jeff. But....confused. I've been dedicated open edge user (over 95% of my shaves) since May 2019 when I started my first 'open edge only' focus. I mainly use safety razors once a week, usually weekends when I travel, but that's about to change to be almost all open edge shaves (getting a camper setup with a sink). Looks like you joined in August 2019. Maybe you were lurking while I did more safety razor shaves in March and April 2019, when I first started 30DC posting.
