I only tried the original scent Clubman. After reading so many people on TSD I decided to give it a try. So after shaving I put some on and went on a long motorcycle ride. The stench inside the full face helmet damn near killed me. I came home and poured it down the drain. My wife smelled the order in the bathroom and politely told me if I ever brought that stuff home again I would be missing certain important body parts. So after that experience I have no desire to try other Pinaud aftershaves.

The only soap I have tried was the one I just finished. I have wanted to try a few samples of their other soaps but I have not since I am trying to trim down the den a little. That being said, I did enjoy this soap. I had used it with both straights, DE and SE razors with pleasurable results.

Thank you James. Some might consider it too small or the knot too wispy, but the handle has good ergonomics and reasonable backbone.

Wet soap = slick soap. I think you cannot dismiss the possibility that you are using too much pressure, Paul.

You don't have to worry about me on that one, @clint64 ...I've never tried Tabac so I can't compare the two.

Thanks, Blair. I have owned those SHD knots. (Paladins, Declaration Grooming, et al). They are just like rubbing a tennis ball on your face. My older, grey box era brushes have far better flow-through. After all, if a brush doesn't release the lather, what's the point?

I have the Frost Drops ready to go for tomorrow, and will do my "brief" bloom prior to showering, which is prior to the shave. Hopefully I can get a goose-egg for cuts and nicks.

I have noticed a significant improvement in reduced irritation since I have been hydrating my lathers more these past several months. I think I was falsely lulled into accepting that the lathers were great just because they looked dense on the face with no bubbles. The more hydrated lathers have also helped me to better attack my lower neck trouble zone with great results.
