Thank you Gary! It's a very rare weekend off for me in the middle of summer. Some honey do, some self imposed duties, but gonna enjoy it! Hope yours is great too.

    Thanks Joe!

Thank you Bruce! This WK is my first of his soaps, a BST from BaylorGator here back in early 2019.

    Thanks so much Clint!

    Thank you Joe!

    Sincerely appreciated Andrew!

Thanks Joseph! As wifey said first time I used it, 'Now, that's a knife'.....and I was thinking she wouldn't notice or wasn't paying attention. :happy097:

And....I think I've gotten all the super kind comments and thoughts from my shave post today, either above or separately. If I missed someone's, my apologies!

Consider a feather-like touch tomorrow, Paul. Pretend you are just removing the lather, be it thick or thin, and nothing else. The stubble will come off too, promise.

    Thank you, Blair!
I've been using the top of a tall chest of drawers lately for the SOTD pictures because it is near windows and has decent lighting. It also doesn't require any prep - just place the gear and snap a pic.

Well said, Andrew. Your post should be required reading for every wet shaver.
I started a thread on TSN in 2016, here it is:

Thanks, Joseph. I use witch hazel on a cotton round after rinsing off at the end of every shave, so I experience the same. I think though by leaving a final lather on my face while I am cleaning the shave station, some of the soap's goodness may seep into the skin.
I found a vendor that has the Alt Innsbruck and Tabac Soap Sticks in stock. They are sitting in my shopping cart...

My experience is an order of magnitude less with badger brushes. Maybe 5 or 6 vendors/manufacturers so far. The only true lather hogs I've come across are 2 SHD knots from Heritage Collection (one was a gel tip). That gel tip handle now has a synthetic Simpson. The other HC I'm still complaining about :angry019: :happy102:. A 28mm badger I've purchased from TGN is a second cousin to a lather hog, but it does release and build lather if I overload it. The HC knots in my world just keep growing in size the more I try to lather, and the resulting 'tennis ball' only smears lather around, without building anything on the face unless I use a paint stroke.

Thank you, Jeff! I really like the scents and the MWF worked wonderfully today.
The Fine Green Vetiver is supposed to be a clone of the Guerlain Vetiver. Fresh Vetiver is supposed to be a Tom Ford Grey Vetiver clone. I may have to get that one eventually too.

Thank you, Clint! I may have to also buy the Fine Fresh Vetiver as it seems to be well liked on this forum.

I like my C-Mon Heritage Badger SHD, but it is a lather hog. I have learned to face paint and squeeze the brush to release the lather. My 2 other badger brushes are also notorious lather hogs, but I still appreciate them. Personally, I have an easier time lathering with synthetics.

I wish Ben the best of luck to retire early and make a living doing something he enjoys.
There’s a big world of stones out there. And prices all over the place. From what little bit I understand about honing, it comes down to your budget and preferences. Some guys love natural stones, others prefer synthetic.

    You, sir, are very correct.
Here’s a little more trivia to go along with that...
If you like to stay cool, don’t become an HVAC/refrigeration mechanic.
Most of our work is outside where it’s hot. The same applies for the winter months if you dislike the cool temps.

Thank you, Joseph! I just read a good bit of that TSN thread. Good info.
When I first switched to traditional wet shaving, I bowl lathered. However for the past year and a half or so, I face lather almost exclusively. I find it so much easier to control the hydration level and I also enjoy the feeling I get from building the lather on the face. That extra time spent face lathering I believe helps better prepare the skin for shaving. At least in my experience.
