Good to hear Jason! Having a vacation canceled due to COVID is a common tale this year. Just need to let you know. September would be a great month to work on a joint project or two. Looking forward to those interactions.

Thanks Blair! 10 out of 17 soaps in my den are Stirling and I usualy have good shaves with this brand.

There are definitely better soaps than Stirling, but you're going to pay more because there are more quality ingredients in those soaps. IMHO, Stirling gives the best value than any artisan soap on the market. Stirling gives me everything I need for a great shave. I am not knocking anyone who does, but I can't see spending 5 dollars and above per oz for soap.

i agree.they have that market sown, turtleship, chiselled face and many others are as good and better but don't have the distribution stirling has.A &E are far superior and have a similar price range..keep an eye on those products..he will reign,in time. italian artisan products beat them in their sleep..but they suffer from high shipping costs..

A and E have some interesting scents. I don't like PAA for personal reasons. I know they have a great line, but the product is not a good fit for me. I will check out other soaps when my supply dwindles in a few years.

can i be frank? paa are fine for those who like them..thats it..shampoo gives enough slickness to shave with....creams,goops croaps..its all fat.fat is slippery..you know the facts.your a chemistry teacher..sharp blade, proper angle, bit of lube, great shave.the rest is semantics..and you know it..:)

we all shave with the products we love..scents,names,ingredients...i love the choices..but folks, Chris is right.a blade is a blade,a razor handle is a blade holder, and anything wet is a lubricant.do the math..everything else is choice..you straight razor guys know this..i have shaved with water only and got bbs.if we are going forward with this it should be known that products don't make a real difference..technique rules..and that's the reason this thread exists.one shave, one day at a time..

Of course, I forgot. (and I have two :scared003:) The Bay Rum, Limes & Peppercorns is a top-notch product. I also have the double-strength bottle. It's pretty good. Might want to consider Captain's Choice. The Cat O' Nine Tails will wake you up.
