Excellent shave, Joe! I have that same CL scent in a soap from an earlier collaboration by Storybook Soapworks. Nice scent.
I hope all goes well with your wife's doctor visit today. Enjoy the BBQ tomorrow! Smoked brisket is always a crowd pleaser...

Not as rushed today, so I had a leisurely shave with a very fine soap.

Manuel's tobacco scent is quite unique as opposed to the majority of the tobacco scents on the market.
Forget about that "Cavendish" scent we all know, this is like opening a fresh pack of Marlboro Menthols.
No tar scent; no burning, acrid scent. Just pure tobacco heaven.
    Lathers darn well too:

I am not sure how many shaves are on the Feather blade, but it hasn't lost a lick of edge.
I was much more successful today with the "toe-down" right ear-to-chin pass.
I am still sporting the mark from my first
    attempt at this maneuver.
Some Thayer's Medicated Witch Hazel cleared my pores of all soap remains
and the Eufros Balm really made a fantastic Friday finish.

I'm glad your power was restored and all seems back in order now. Good thing your neighbor has friends in high places...
Great shave setup and results, Jeff! 3 days with no shave must have driven you bonkers. 10 days with a DE blade is impressive as well.

Wow, hearing Marlboro Menthols brings back some old, old, old memories. Interesting take on the tobacco scented software.

    Friday's Shave

    1959 Gillette Fatboy (E4)
    Gillette Platinum (3)
    Vulfix No. 28 Boar
    Mitchell's Wool Fat
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Barrister and Mann Reserve Cool Aftershave

Using MWF today for 'Fat Friday' after just using Tabac yesterday made for a good chance to compare the two soaps. Tabac wins the lathering department. MWF wins the slickness and post shave feel department. They are tied for protective feel during the shave. They are tied for the scent comparison - I like both scents in their own way. MWF is fresh/neutral. Tabac is Tabac.

I also got to use two new products today - the Vulfix brush and the B&M Reserve Cool aftershave. I did my usual break in procedure for the brush. Lathered in a sandalwood soap and left it for about 8 hours. Then soaked the brush overnight in ice water inside the fridge, followed by extensive towel scrubbing this morning. This procedure has worked for my other two boar brushes and has done well to start off the break in process as I use them over and over for shaves. I also towel scrub all my brushes after each shave anyway. The B&M aftershave is the example of great customer service from WCS that I mentioned before. I had ordered the small bottle of Epsilon Blue Mediterranean (they realized it was out of stock after I placed the order), but they replaced it with the more expensive B&M Cool with them covering the extra cost. What a great smelling aftershave and great skin feel. I have a sample of Epsilon and also a sample of Floid Blue given to me from a friend. All three aftershaves smell great and my nose is not in-tune enough to tell much of a difference between them. I've read the B&M Cool scent lingers longer than the Epsilon. End result: I am a happy camper.

3 full passes today with the Fatboy set on 7 resulted in a BBS finish and terrific post shave feel. The B&M Cool has a slight menthol kick which I enjoy and the drydown of the scent just gets better as I have been wearing it.

    Happy Friday!
