Thank you Gary. I took a sample slice at midnight after I packed it in a cooler for a couple of hours. Delicious!
I tried a parker 1/2DE blade shavette for the first time. Face OK, head, not so much. Did everything over again with a DE. I have an AC shavette on order. I just want to learn the technique/
Wonderful shave Andrew. How is the Sandalwood scent on the soap? Does it have any longevity? Darn insects, I hate hornets.
Aug 9 SOTA It's Sprecher Sunday! Good afternoon guys! Straight Shave #192 Max Sprecher 10/8 1/2 Hollow Barber's Notch Catie's Bubbles Tuxedo Brush Proraso Green SS and AS I really was planning on shaving with the Mad Max tomorrow. As I was prepping the blade, I decided to use it now. I am going to service this evening so I should be clean shaven. I still can't believe that I am shaving with this razor. It glides so easily while picking up the lather from my face. The feedback is really music to my ears. With very little pressure on the 2.5 passes, I ended with a BBS - shave without any errors. Finished with the Proraso Green aftershave for a perfect ending. Have a great afternoon fellas!
Once I got my 1st edition model T upgraded with replacement parts, free from Rockewll, to correct some issues, it became a great shaver.
Thanks Gary...hello. With the overblooming of the soap to begin with, I wasn't sure how it was going to be. It's amazing how much tap water can engulf a shave soap in a second or so.
I think I'll wait till the AC version arrives then do many shaves with each to learn straight technique and compare. First experience seems to indicate it's not going to be a regular thing for my head, but I'll reserve judgement. Some guys on youtbe make it look easier than it was.
That's a mighty interesting shave brush handle on the over. But to be serious, yeah, that's about what happened this morning at my sink.
Congrats on going to the Dark Side of the Moon! May I suggest to go to my thread, Straight Razor/Shavette Guide for Newbies. Go to the straight razor forum snd you will find it. Last post was in March of this year. There's valuable info from me and other TSD members to help you transition to open blade shaving. Also, I wouldn't be shaving my head with any shavette until you have a good feel for the razor and you have your technique down pat. We are in your corner. Enjoy your new journey!
Fantastic looking shave and photo Andrew. I hope the stings and bites are better. I hate getting stung. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
