    Saturday shave: I usually do not use a heavily mentholated soap when I shaving with a straight razor. Today I wanted to use a straight and some cold to beat the heat so I went with a razor I know if very smooth, a Mastro Livi Giffreto. A Tom White B-400 did it's job, the lather was slick and cold and the shave was excellent.

    @myles wilson Tabac is unique. One of the greatest, classic soaps ever produced. Scent is very European and only those with mature, well-seasoned and discriminating sense of smell appreciate it. I, of course, am a great fan...along with all the other shavers "in the know".

    Dogs woke me at 5am...yawn.
    Forgot to cage them and came down to the kitchen and stepped in a HUGE pool of urine. :angry019:
    Half a roll of paper towels later and after washing my feet and hands, I tried to go back to sleep.
    Wasn't going to happen. :angry019:
    Snapped at Dr. Mrs. Primo---unfairly, necessitating an obligatory     apology a few hours later.
    Thinks are back to normal and, at least, enjoyed a quality shave.
    These "old school" soaps are the cat's meow, especially because they don't rely on a cadre
    of oils to make their product lather.
    The C&E lavender is a wonderful example.
    I face-lathered the product this morning, and while it will never achieve the shine that
    the newer artisan soaps do, nonetheless, it afforded me a terrific base on my skin,
    allowing the razor/blade to glide effortlessly and rid my face of the stubble completely.
    While I could have reached for a lavender finish, the Old Spice was screaming at me to be used.
    Glad I did.    ​
