    Saturday's Shave

    PAL Injectomatic
    Personna Blade
    Semogue 820 Boar
    Dominica Bay Rum Shaving Soap
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Grand Bay, Bay Rum Aftershave

    A wonderful bay rum shave to start off the day! The Grand Bay is an exceptional scent with a terrific light skin feel and I prefer it over my other bottle of bay rum - Pinaud VIBR. The lather from the Dominica Bay Rum soap is still not the most stable yet, but the slickness and scent are great. I hope once I break in the puck, the lather will improve. The MWF lather was finicky for me in the beginning too, but I was able to tame that puck after a few shaves. I'm not comparing the performance of the two soaps, I am merely pointing out the issues with developing a good lather.

    After the neck irritation appeared later on yesterday, I decided to give my skin a slight rest today. Two passes with the PAL Injectomatic provided a comfortable DFS finish with no irritation or mishaps.

    I can add to this....sometimes when I use my toilet "auger" at the wrong angle, it will suddenly jump out of the toilet and get me. I think this embarrassing thing began long before the term ""flies in the face of".

    Better late than never to have the time to post this last weeks shave.

    EL&Co 9/8 near wedge
    This razor delivered what I thought was a spectacular smooth and irritation free shave. but when I applied the aftershave, those thoughts quickly changed as the burn took over. Once the pain subsided I began to realize where I went wrong, I had forgot to compensate for the different angle on the bevel, and was holding it at much to steep. Hopefully I won’t repeat that mistake, but just in case I do I’ll stick with the post shave balm after using this razor again.

    Thank you Joe. I really like the coated tins instead of plastic. I do wish the tins were wider for easier loading.

    You’re right Paul. I think the Fresh Vetiver was a limited release. I got the complete set including bath soap for Father’s Day.

    The Grand Bay does smell fabulous. I am so glad you like it. My only suggestion would be upping the scent strength.

    Thank you, Clint! You're right about the scent strength. The scent only lingers about 2 hours, but I am fine with that, considering the price.

    I add 2 drops of glycerin per oz to most aftershaves. It really helps with the post shave feel.
