    Shave Soap & Aftershave

Whew. It's Monday already. Asha is a loaded up for her return drive to Tampa. We went from a full house to empty nesters in a matter of days. It was fun to have both girls here for a few weeks at least. I went with RR The Dead Sea soap this afternoon. I found out the labels on the soap are not waterproof so I decided to remove a small amount of the soap and bowl lather. You have to protect the label for the photos after all. ;) The "Soap Destroyer" did a wonderful job bowl lathering as well. Three passes and touch ups ended in a drama free BBS shave. A splash of The Dead Sea aftershave and I think I am ready for the day. At least I am smooth shaven and smell good. I hope everyone has a great Monday.

Thank you Joe. Swati did treat me pretty well on this trip. I have wanted to try the Four Roses Small batch but could not bring myself to buy a bottle. I am looking forward to giving it a try.

    Wonderful shave and picture, Clint!
The only non waterproof labels I've come across have been on samples. I'll keep that in mind should I pick up that set.

Thank you Jim. I never even thought of the label not being waterproof. However after about 10 uses I noticed the color and writing coming off the side. I guess I could just take the label off the side. That might be easier.

Kathy is a beautiful woman with a warm loving smile! You're a very fortunate fellow! I had more than 40 years with the love of my life! I'm happy that you are both so clearly devoted to each other! God bless the two of you!

Clearly, it stands for "One Of Paul's Absolute Best Shaves". (OOPABS). OOps, that doesn't look right.

Well, today's shave came CLOSE to "One of Paul's Absolute Best Shaves"(see #3552), but a cut got in the way. Not a bad one, just that it was THERE in the first place. Final of a threefer with the Central Texas Soaps Grandpa's Barbershop. 0:30 to load the Stoylin Pro-Handle. I was thinking-maybe it's no wonder this particular soap has the watery "solution" in the middle of the puck: It has the Bentonite Clay, and hasn't been used for a real long time, so the clay helps soften it up and.....(I don't know what I'm saying...need some help here). Anyway...2 solid passes-once again the cut happened on the first pass. It was at South Porcupine Alley. Cactus Nation went nice and smooth both passes. Finished with Clubman again. Since the cut was "manageable", let's give the shave a Super Duper Excellent.

Lovely shave, Maestro, with great photography and staging! Glad you're enjoying your GC! I'm looking forward to taking my new Tradere for a spin tomorrow. I'm also taking delivery of a natural jasper hone my son Ben recommended to complement the Naniwa 1000 and DMT 320K I've already taken delivery of. My honing lessons begin tomorrow. Hope you have a great day, even reeking of Clubman! ;)

Great shave, Paul! Maybe watch that pressure as you begin to reduce Cactus Nation! Have a great day, my friend!

(Note: As a reminder to all, Greg took out the Bentonite Clay from his soaps shortly AFTER I bought the Grandpa's Barbershop.).

Thanks, Joe! It was a decent shave, not one of my best, but acceptable.

Thank you, Jeff. Y'know, it seems I've done real well down at Cactus. Porcupine gets the cuts&Knicks(both sides). But I'm glad I had just the one this time, and it was harmless.

Great shave, Clint; can't beat a BBS! Glad the girls are settled! I remember those days. Mine have been out of the house for almost two decades. Love the blue handle on that brush! I'm too focused on razors to ever spend more than $50 for a brush. But it is fun to live vicariously through my buds in this great crew!
