    Thanks Jeff! I understand. However, if you use my method of loading this soap, then you may find it may not be an issue because you would be using less soap. You may not get the super duper chill, but it still damn cold enough to enjoy it.

    The razor with the biggest smile is a 3/4~1/2 hollow and the other is a near wedge. For the big smiles it is rare to see them with a full hollow grind, I have one, a Japanese SK-3 razor that is very special in my den. The big one is a bit tricky to maintain but I have never had to set the bevel, just a touch up on a finishing stone.

    Have a very sharp edge is one of the keys for me to get a great shave with a straight. I think what Ben was doing is getting rid of a foil edge, easier to look up than for me to explain. I usually strop in between stones to remove it. There are a lot of ways to hone razor.

    Tuesday back to work shave so it a safety razor day. Decided to take my Janus Toggle out for a spin and loaded it with a fresh KAI blade. A Rudy Vey bog oak handle loaded with Shavemac DO1 flat top let me beet the soap into submission. The Janus continues to impress, wide open and then down to 7 for the ATG pass. Excellent shave.

    Good morning!

    Awesome shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS. Nearly silent alum.

    First time using Tabac. Great performance. I found the scent to be subtle both off the puck and lathered. The aftershave is potent in comparison to the soap and I could see how some wouldn't care for it. I wasn't sure about it at first but after giving it a few minutes to settle I really like it. Kinda sweet, kinda floral to my nose. Tabac Tuesday will be a thing for me.

    Congratulations, devil-dog-to-be! You’ll never forget boot! Mine was 55 yrs ago, and I can still remember! Keep your head down and try not to call too much attention to yourself, although in that first week it may be difficult! :)
