You know, Jeff, I think you would be singing a different tune if your wife wasn't reading over your shoulder.

Droo, you should PM @Trigger. He uses lapping films which I understand is a very cost-effective way to approach honing. He could definitely provide some pointers. My son tells me I can get away with just using my barber hone sized jasper stone and a DMT plate to build slurries. I bought the 1000 grit Naniwa to learn bevel setting. I have one razor that failed the tilt and wobble test indicating its need for a bevel set. In the old days most guys who maintained their razors used a single stone. Ben says that it’s only within the last 20 yrs or so that guys are going crazy buying different progressive stone sets. My honing lesson is this afternoon. Lapping films seem a very good way to go.

Since I have absolutely zero patience, I just had to go with the Wolfman WR-2 this morning. @b1hart Blair inspired me to go with an AOS shave cream for the maiden voyage. AOS Lavender just flat smells fantastic with the shave performance to match. This WR-2 has a blade gap of 1.05mm. However, if you are looking for a razor with tons of blade feel you will need to order it with a larger blade gap. The razor with this WRH2 handle is heavy at 127 grams so no need to add any pressure. I went with a traditional three pass shave this morning. I never felt like the razor was going to bite. I found the shave to be very smooth and efficient. Three passes and tough ups ended in a perfect BBS shave. My first impression is of the razor is very good. I will keep using it along with the incoming Tradere over the next couple of weeks and update my thoughts. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

Outstanding shave lineup, Jim! I'm glad that you enjoyed your first run with Tabac. That Omega Evo pairs perfectly with the setup.

Gorgeous razor, Clint! My Tradere looks like it will be a joy to use at 118.5 grams. I like those hefty razors! Time to give the Tradere a spin!

Just out of curiosity, from which decade are you referring? 1920's, 50's, 80's, 2020?

Thanks, Jeff! I'd like to take a minimalist approach if possible (when the time comes).
