Thanks Andrew! I bought this soap and the RR Classic for under 5 dollars and they do a nice job for me. I am not against high end soaps, but as long as I can shave with these RR soaps, then I am happy. When I was a boy, my father would just use bar soap and a DE razor to shave his whiskers. He didn't have any problems doing so. Other then military personnel in the trenches, how many of us would use the basic simple bar soap and water to shave our faces?

Nice setup Andrew! Tabac Tuesday fun.

Great report and image Jeff! Buttery velvet open edge shaves are the best.

I shaved with whatever bar of soap was at the sink for over thirty years.

    Cool shave Joe! 'da Veg....:)

Very nice Joe! Love the choices, that soap sounds like a great match to the Citrus Musk.

I am also a fan of the inexpensive, but productive shave gear.
My neighbor just used regular soap and Bic disposables...that is until I gave him a stick of Palmolive, some blades and his B1 Gillette Flare Tip birth quarter razor... :) He dug around and found his father's old shave brush (still looked in great shape). He's hooked now. He was my first convert to traditional shaving.

Thank you, Blair! If something is considered "controversial" or it generates "polar opposite" reactions, there's a pretty good chance I'll be trying it.

I used my Dad's razor and bar soap (just like he did) when I started shaving. I continued using bar soap until I was about 20 years old. Then I started shaving the right way...with a Norelco electric razor.

I could always count on you to rough it Jim! However, just to make sure, you only used bar soap and no canned stuff?
