Thank you, Bill! It seems to be working for me. I just received a Puma Solingen which requires a bevel set and new edge. I do have a Chosera 1000k stone I can reset the bevel on, but am toying with using the Dilucot method to reset the bevel (i.e. a graduated series of slurries), but it wil probably be much easier to use the Chosera. I’ll decide in the next day or so.

I’ll check out his videos to see his process. I’m one that now prefers super sharp, and work those techniques for all my honing & stropping.

Super happy you’ve found a process that fits and works for you! Awesome you have Ben to help and guide the way. Your progress and enthusiasm with everything open edge shaving is apparent in your passionate posts& reports. Fun stuff!

We're heading home tomorrow and are very grateful for how things turned out. In a strange way, it will be sad to leave some of our new friends. We were blessed with some incredible caregivers, and we were inspired by others navigating their own difficult journeys. I posted a link sometime ago to a photo album. I continued to add photos and comments to it all summer. That was my therapy. It caused me to reflect on our many blessings rather than the difficulties. Starting my day with a nice traditional shave was also quite therapeutic, and it was one of my favorite things.

The daily interactions here with people felt really good, even though there were few hugs and handshakes. Most people here follow the COVID-19 precautions (that's what you get when half the people work with healthcare in some way and nearly all the 'out-of-towners' are patients)...and probably better than we'll experience back home. It will be good to get home, though, and see family and friends. We've missed them, and we miss sleeping in our own bed. We're already planning some outdoor visits, and one is rumored to include fresh banana bread.

I hope you all are well. I look forward to getting back in the swing of things with you all soon.

Wow, Jeff, you've made some incredible progress with straights these past few months! It's great that you've found something new to learn and enjoy. Can't wait to get back and to start following your exploits more closely. Hope all is well, my friend.
