Great shave, Blair! Sorry about the DE experience. You should try Personna 74s or Sunekos. I got 10 shaves off my last Suneko, and that blade was still going strong when I binned it.

    Thanks Jeff!

I have a couple hundred Feather and other blades to work through first. It’s years before I need DE blades even with just one use....maybe decades now that I straight razor shave 85% of the time.

Thanks, Bill. Just glad I have what appears to be a reliable regimen for maintaining my straight razors.

Did my best brisket ever 2 weeks back.

The Lovely Mrs Headroom came home with a monster 21# Angus. I decided to separate and trim all the slab fat (lost about half by wgt) then salt dry brine overnight. Injected beef broth with additions. Sprinkled with pepper, onion and garlic powders.

I used the Harry Soo 'high and fast' method till a bark formed 350-400 indirect about 3 hrs spritzed regularly with plain water. Foil wrapped with some broth and went back on at 250-275 for about 1.5 hours to hit 205.

Worth a look IMO. I'll never do another brisket low and slow.

Fantastic shave Paul. I will have to look up your review on the “Stoylin” website.

Gary that sounds wonderful. The only challenge I have is my Masterbuilt only heats up 275. The only other option would be to start it in the gas grill, I direct heat of course, then transfer to the smoker after 3 hours.

Thanks, Joseph! I find it to be almost a meditative process from which a nice buttery soft edge emerges.

Progressing nicely Jeff. Even more important is the time spent learning from your son. Priceless endeavor.

Thanks Joe...I need to do a few more Stoylin reviews, too...but I may wait on the cold-weather shaves...it's better to review it(them)when you're most familiar(that is, as having just used it/them).

Thanks, Joe! I was teasing him yesterday about his becoming an official ‘old man’. He just became a grandfather back in June. I did good with that one!
