Super Sunday shave Joseph! It's quite possible that the lighting caused the optical illusion of cracked scales. I have had similar illusions with scales not looking their best due to the lighting in a pic.

I have the same problem. I bought 100 Rockwell blades 2 yrs ago and I still have 65 left. At this rate, it will be another 4 yrs before I need to buy DE blades.

Thanks Joe. Barbers have commented on head hair being stumps....that’s not the beard hair. So...maybe.

I strop every straight immediately before shaving. If it’s not where I want it (sharp or smooth shaving), it goes in a separate drawer that I then just add pasted stropping before it’s next use. I don’t report every single time I do that.

Honing....haven’t had to in awhile since that routine started. But I do have incoming BST purchases that may.

Awesome lineup Terry! My Schick E3 with the Chicks blade gives great shaves. I haven't used the Schick B20 Prolines, but I am guessing they are just as sharp.

I strop everytime before I shave. After the shave, I make sure the razor is dry and then hit it on the fabric to make sure it's dry and remove any possible debris before I oil and store it.

Thank you Joe. I think the menthol did mask the ginger. The soap is going to a new home now.

Thanks guys! It has been a really good day so far hanging around the house, catching up with some friends and family, and getting settled. We slept in, and I'm guessing we'll hit the sack early tonight also.

Thanks, Gary! Ben delivered the goods! I told him I wanted the simplest honing setup That would allow me to maintain my razors’ edges, be simple and algorithmic (i.e. reduceable to a simple set of steps I could follow). The result was two stones, a bevel setter and an all around stone in the Colorado Jasper, which Ben asked me to leave to him. I laughed, who the heck else in the family would want it? Although, Ben’s son Nathan may. He’s already made a basic camp knife using the stock removal method under his dad’s tutelage, and has shown a real interest in bladesmithing, so who knows?

Good afternoon guys! It's Stirling Satsuma Shave Sunday!

    Shavette Shave #196
    Dovo Shavette
    Personna Headshaper Blade (2)
    Stirling Boar Brush
    Stirling Satsuma AS and SS

I have a love/hate relationship with this brush because it sometimes sheds bristles, but not today thank goodness. She does make nice lathers so that's why I am meh with it. The Personna Headshaper blade is still very sharp that I did get a chin and neck crier on my first pass. 2 passes gave me with very little touchup gave me an IBSS. I just love the Satsuma scent. Yes, Aromatherapy is in full force on this shave. Gave myself a liberal splash of this juice and was quite content with the shave. I am going to have a non- shave day tomorrow wbich will give me some time to plan my next shave. I am leaning to my Wosty near wedge because I need to keep my promise to Joe C of 2 shaves/month until the end of this year with this razor. Have a great day guys! 20200823_143749.jpg
