Thanks Gary. Mostly it looks in good condition. The cap is a little iffy:

oh ok,that is a later lc style cap which did come on those.if you find a cheap lc with bent teeth and a clean cap..i built a nice one doing that.i am not one for replates and stuff, but is an option as well..or just use it and polish it..:)

That's interesting. Lc caps and sc caps are different?

the early short combs had square cut corners on the cap with the required cut outs in the plate.later short combs had less of a cutout and used long comb caps. 735009-e073a6d4daa84f6183b57d27170791c7.jpg long comb on the right..i will assemble some examples and post them on the "vintage gillette shave" thread..

Very nice. My Friedr is a favorite and a nice kamisori is high on my list.

Thank You! Have always heard great things on the Friedr brand.

Have a traditional 'no scale' version of an asymmetric kamisori (it's definitely user grade)....and the same, want a nice one.

There's only one or two other vintage straights on the 'want' list...but they have some crazy prices. Maybe one day. The two above were reasonable given their brand & condition IMO. It's also a crazy FWMP...wanted these color scales.

It’s funny you say it that way. I want a user asymmetrical and I love the Friedr scales so much I’m considering putting a white set on my Fanger.

thank you Mike.the hydromatic was chosen for its cleaning capabilities and also a short handled version of the type l.i think i have chosen the best of schick shaves with an e2,g"66" and a hydro..the rest are just cosmetic..;)

    Worded not very well....:ashamed001:

The current asymmetrical kamisoris I have are probably in the over honed almost abused category. It was a fleabay purchase, 3 for $65 shipped from Japan (which is like $50 for 3 if you discount shipping). If the ad was correct, it was 3 different lengths/shapes set from a retired Japanese barber, who maintained himself, and they served him well. They are quite near worn out with not much honing edge left, but figured it was enough for my lifetime and worth a shot. Two were.

My other straights...obviously want to try some of the vintage classics with the blade in a 'better' condition, no show pieces for me. I wanna use 'em. Scale colors and material I'm getting picky. Made a few choices of boring....not anymore. ;)
