I pretty much wear the same setup.....although, I won't do transition type lenses again. I've had the no name 'clones' and now the real Transitions.

It's infuriating having them turn dark as they can get when hanging on your shirt pocket (light colored shirt)....and not be that dark when on your nose. The other trait that drives me nuts.........they get as dark as they can, when it's super overcast here in Texas.

From now on, it's separate polarized progressive sunglasses for driving/working outdoors, and then a pair of progressive daily wear for everything else.

Technically they are disposeABLES, but I only do 3 shaves at a time with them....sometimes just 2(both passes of a soap shave).

    Just thinking out loud...

I believe someone mentioned the Mach 3 disposable option? Tried those? Currently about $1.65 per refill (Amazon, Sam's Club, others). I would stick to known big box or trusted sellers so as not to get clones. Mach 3 were supposedly some of the last 'best' carts/disposables.

At $1.65, if you reused 3 times...that's $0.55/shave, not unheard of with some DE blades if not bought in bulk. But....to be honest, I went shaving with Mach 3 blades for more than a week (nearly every day).....

Mach 3 blades were some of the last 'good' shaves I remember from the cart world. I had 3 handles...bathroom, camp bag & travel bag.

It was them 4 bladed and 5 bladed contraptions that were always giving me ingrown hairs and irritation, along with that 'gel' canned goo.

I thought about going back to the Mach 3 when I found the true traditional wet shaving back during research of late Dec 2018. But, they weren't stocked at my normal shopping places....just recently added back to the shelves.

Anyways....Jan 2019 had me buying a Fat Boy, Proraso and ToBS...that turned into the addiction, which turned into the craziness of open edge shaving.

I have good night vision, but I am thinking later on down the road that the anti-reflection will help me see better at night. These coatings allows more light to pass through instead of being reflected so you can have better vision overall. It's a nuisance when glare from headlight hits your eyes. Also, people don't see your eyes too well and you don't look great in pics with regular lenses due to reflected light.

my biggest issue with night driving is when it's raining.that and these stupid white headlamps cars have gotten away with lately..

The A/R coatings definitely help night vision driving, but also viewing any backlit display device (camera/computer/tablet/phone) glare as well.

Mine is the same...but if they'd just keep the reflective lane striping refreshed...it'd be a non issue. The white headlights...usually the problem cause they're self installed and not re-aimed. Factory installed is rarely an issue.

.....I just do a LOT of night driving I guess.

Thanks Charlie! I have my old glasses to make visual comparisons and it is like night and day. The private optometrist that made the original glasses screwed my prescription. I went back to him and he didn't believe me. Unfortunately, I broke one of the lenses and had to get both lenses replaced because a new transition lens would not match the other one. That was about 6 months ago. The optometrist at LensCrafters said he tweaked the prescription a tiny bit and it made all the difference. I asked him how bad was my original prescription. He said it was within acceptable standards, but it wasn't off by much. I have moderate astigmatism in one eye and I think the first doctor got the axis of the cylinder part of the prescription wrong. Anyway, who would think that an optometrist in a chain store would do a better job than one who has a private practice. My prescription is mild to slightly moderate so that it shouldn't be that hard to get it right.

i agree .upkeep on the reflective striping would be a big help.as for the hotrodder installed white headlamp upgrades..they should be aligned or face fines..they have created so many accidents up here..

You wife's health issues puts her at a very high risk and you are at risk because of the age factor plus I believe your state is one of the hotspots so you guys need to be very vigilant. Thankfully, I was spared despite being 65 in a state that was the main hotspot of the nation. I didn't have fear throughout the entire time and that was only by God's grace. I knew people who had it and others who died from it. It is a terrible virus. It is still out there, but I believe it is on the waning cycle. Anyway, I pray a hedge of protection over you and Kathy so that this plaque will not come near you in Jesus' name. Amen!

I hear you. However, salespeople don't properly explain how transitions work. They only say that it turns darker when the sun is out. That is true, but it is the amount of UV light that causes the reaction to turn the lenses darker. Even on cloudy days, you still have UV light that will darken the lenses. The reason why they don't turn darker while your driving is because the windshield blocks the UV radiation. I have sensitive eyes that light bothers me and that's why I have transitions.

They should never have those halogen headlights because they really hurt my eyes.
