  4. Well, not my best shave, but it could have been worse. 0:30 to load the Crown King brush. Right then I realized I forgot to bloom the soap(Central Texas Soaps-Down At The River)before the shower. As it was, though, I felt I got it good and moist with the swirling. Both facial sides came out good, but the I got a cut at the left corner of North Porcupine Alley. That's too early for a cut. I eventually got it to settle down thanks to administering more soap to the area. Then a couple (New York K)nicks at South P.A. Cactus Alley turned out OK. The cold Osage aftershave helped prevent the cut from more damage. For that matter, Osage Rub felt real good and cold all over. At least s refreshing finish to a shave that should have been better. Fairly Excellent*

*pending the revised shave grade order which will be soon.

  6. Great Ethos shave, Maestro! Enjoy your day!
  7. Sorry the Shake Sharp shave didn’t work out, Joe! Sounds like you’re using a single blade. Whatever works! I’ve found that stacked blades with the Shake Sharp deliver the best shaves. Hope your breakfast went well!

  13. Williams Wednesday

    Razor: Gillette NEW LC
    Blade: Wilkenson Sword
    Brush: Sidewalk Chalk and Resin
    SS: Williams Mug Soap
    AS: Williams Aqua Velva

The 30mm synthetic knot worked up a decent mount of lather but it was challenging to finish a pass before it disappeared. Still ended up with a 2 pass DFS. The Alum was a little mean because I was shaving fast, not careful.

I think I am going to like this brush, but it is possible the 30mm knot is just a touch too big. Happy hump day everyone!

  15. Moving my interests to straights and honing I used the Chinese ZY again.

For those considering a low cost Chinese straight option, I'd recommend a look at crescentcityrazors.com. I think you'll get something that is actually shave ready, unlike this piece originally honed by 'ZY Razor's very own honemeister, Master Shifo'. Moral is - expect a $20 razor for $20. Slash will get you one for about $30 and he has basic strops for $40.

Good shave again. This 6/8 tool with a straight shank feels good the hand. I may do a small focus with this piece.

Don't anybody tell Jeff @jgreenepa that I didn't wait for my birthday to go out and order one of those ancient ocean jasper hones the other day, we wouldn't want him to develop a 'complex', you know, with Charlie being back picking on him and all.

The truth lies in my own health. You see, I've not made any shave purchases in a while and my billfold weight and girth were beginning to affect my smooth gait. The pressure relief did the trick! That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
  16. Excellent setup and photo Pierpaolo

  17. Super report and great images Joseph!

Is there an Ethos website to order yet? Tried the email route for two soaps w/sfs and his pre shave. Lost in the shuffle I guess....
