Wow Charlie. Praying there wasn't a transmission between y'all.

This is tough stuff. I've got my elderly father in a retirement apartment less than 2 miles away. It's a monitored type facility, he can come and go, but it's a tight system for visitors. It's only food staff and employees, healthcare workers (in home for those who need it) that can visit. He goes on his 4 wheeled scooter to get small groceries/ice cream so he isn't completely a shut in, we hand deliver the rest, no visit for more than a minute or two, masks required, outdoors. Tough on everyone, especially him, cause it limits him having us visit for meals with the kids, or take him out.

Our schools started in full virtual mode. For those who want class in person, that starts Sept 9th. For those wanting in class teaching, there's a two page 'waiver & questionnaire' that has to be brought every Monday, completed by parents. Our daughters are doing a mix. Each has one class they want in person, everything else virtual. Masks required, hand sanitizer required....and more.

State wise here...it's a mandate to wear a mask when out of your vehicle or house.....we have lots of fun designs we've made or purchased to rotate through. Most people just wear them when in a group (us included), or when in a building. Don't have to wear one while exercising/walking.

Tuesday, my wife and I saw a man wearing a full face gas mask.....not kidding!

Thanks guys. We may have dropped our guard a bit yesterday, and we have been reminded. We took proper precautions, but we should have just stayed home. It wasn't a required trip, unless being starved to see our old friends counts for anything. All the medical experts that we follow claim that the precautions work if they're followed properly.

Blair, I feel for all the sweet folks in assisted living and skilled nursing situations. This has to be incredibly difficult on families. A dear aunt of ours just moved into an independent living facility. We hope to visit with her briefly and safely outdoors at some point. I hope your Dad and you guys are doing OK under the circumstances.

Same with families sending their children (and spouses) to school. It's a really difficult situation all the way around.

Folks taking things to extremes, such as wearing a gas mask, is really sad. There's reason to be concerned, but there is so much misinformation and fear-mongering right now.

 

I agree that Thiers-Issard are fine razors. However, their factory edge isn't that great and needs to be honed for it to be shave ready. I know that won't be a problem for you, Jeff.

 

It's the inverted blade toe to the floor stroke.

 

That is a wise move, Charlie. I am glad that you have people to deliver groceries for you guys. I still will keep you in prayer so that you will not get it.

i am sorry to hear.it's a shame your friends went through with the visit before telling you they were waiting for or not knowing their test results,especially knowing Kathy's state..i hope you guys stay well..
