Hope they work well for you Paul. If they are still the quality I remember, it was was easy to overshave with too much pressure.

It’s been a long while, but I used the silver handles with 3 black stripes and replaceable carts for 6+ years if not longer. If I had known how much better real shaving cream and soap would have improved the shaves, never would have touched a can of goo. It was a slap in the face when it started getting hard to find the refills.

My car is a 2001 Buick LeSABRE which is kind of fitting for a Double Jedi Knight. It has just under 190,000 miles on it so for it's age that still low mileage. I bought it from a friend almost 8 yrs ago with 108-109 K miles. I put plenty of money on the maintenance of this car, but she still runs well. I believe that I can hit 300K with it.

I'm willing to try. I found a place that sells 1.5" Tantalum bar stock but they don't list prices so I'll have to talk to a sales rep. We'll see what they say on Monday.

Keeping busy so here is a quick catch up:

PRC Damascus with horn scales. Stirling Electric Sheep for the win.

Just refreshed Filarmonica 13. To enjoy my Sunday shave I created an AoS super lather with tallow soap and the cream, a couple of drops of M-bomb to counter the heat.

It’s possible. Here’s the mileage yesterday on ‘The Beast’. Nicknamed that by my girls when they were in elementary school. Originally built in Feb 98, it’s an early model 1999 Ford F-250 7.3L diesel. It does a lot of towing. 2 transmission rebuilds and a starter, batteries, lots of oil changes. Original motor. AC still blows ice cold which is awesome in TX. All maintenance other than the transmission rebuilds I do myself.

A few bumps and bruises, but still looks pretty ok. Here’s from a couple weeks ago.

Thanks Evan. I was just poking fun. Tantalum is quite expensive.

Glad things with the car are resolved! Hopefully, those mechanics were fair with you. My wife drives a Tesla, and those buggers are unreal! Fortunately, we’ve only had two mishaps with the car. Many times less ethical places will take you for a ride if they sense they can. Sounds like you were with an outfit you trust. I had a run-in with one service manager who was was trying to take advantage of my pregnant granddaughter. I had her bill reduced by 75% after reviewing some of the bogus charges he had added. Had a nice chat with the owner about his service policies. Apparently, his service managers had a commission component to their pay. Definitely not customer friendly!

Gorgeous razors, Keith! You have quite the collection! Seems comparable to Ben’s, but most of his are Japanese. His favorites are those smiling Saitos. Enjoy your day and your bride!

The labor was way more than the parts! However, I can't quibble. The work needed to be done and this way when I bring it to my regular mechanic that it will pass inspection.

I think you’re probably right. If I were to go down that road I would go with a Feather with wood scales like Joseph uses. Maybe later when I have more time.
