SOTD. SUNDAY MORNING, AUGUST 30, 2020

Spent about an hour and a half last night burnishing the edge of my favorite CKBA Damascus straight with pull strokes on the jasper stone while watching the 1954 version of Sabrina with Humphrey Bogart, William Holden, and Audrey Hepburn with SWMBO. It certainly paid off. 10 strokes on the paddle strop followed and all was right with the world!

What a sweet, buttery edge! I realize I went a bit overboard, but the mug shave was a complete delight! I really took my time by getting up early. An absolutely wonderful three pass shave ( WTG, ATG, XTG) delivered a perfect VBBS. Did not shave the head as SWMBO and I are meeting friends for a 60 mile bike ride. Bike helmets and freshly shorn domes don’t do well together. I’ll do the dome when I return. I feel cool, clean and athletically velveteen.

RAZOR: CKBA 7/8 Damascus Koa Wood Scales
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Rabid Banana Preshave Cube
BRUSH: JR Custom Rosewood Silvertip Badger #378
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat w/ 6 drops of M-Bomb
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Humphreys WH and Osage Rub. Finished with Krampert’s Frostbite AS Splash.

    Good morning guys

    It's Stirling Satsuma/Sprecher Sunday Shave!

    Straight Shave #199
Max Sprecher 10/8 Half Hollow Barber's Notch
    Catie's Bubbles Tuxedo Brush
    Stirling Satsuma SS and AS

It's the end of the month and Mad Max needed to make an appearance. He really put on a performance. On a 48 hr stubble, one pass was a DFS+. After 2.5 passes, I had a nice BBS - shave that just put a smile on my face. It really was a wow moment. Topped off the shave with the matching aftershave. Have a great mornimg fellas! 20200829_212117.jpg

Thanks, Clint! I have a Feather Kamisori I could shoot your way to try! I’ll even load a fresh Proguard blade for you. It’s the SS model. You’re welcome to hold on to it as long as you wish.

OK, I'll try to ease up on the pressure-I want these to show me how good they are. Question(which may be a dumb one, but I know there are no "dumb" questions here.)...I take it there's no "installing" needed, you just shave with what you have and then "dispose" of it(looks to be about 5 shaves per razor)?
