In keeping with the current trend, I joined TSD ON 8/18 after lurking for a year or two. I also had been on B&B but never became too active because of the one upsmanship so popular there. I have been a traditional wet shaver since the late 60s, using the same Schick Krona for over 50 years until gave up the ghost. I had never used carts until I tried the Omnishaver for my dome shaves. I developed ingrown hairs from it. I’ve accumulated a ridiculous number of safety razors since joining and now seem to be doing the same with straights. I’m also active at the Shaving Cadre where I’ve been keeping a shave journal. They’re a very friendly bunch over there as well. Many of them are also SOS posters here. I didn’t join the 30DC crew until 1/19. It’s been a fun ride. Although not a big soap or AS guy, my focus is pretty much on shaving tools, I enjoy reading the rest of the crew’s odes to the great smells they experience during the shave process, thus my CT. Looking forward to continuing my involvement as long as I can. I do have some health issues that will eventually result in my departure, but until then I’m all in!

Great post Jeff. I have enjoyed your posts on the 30dc. In particular it has been nice to watch your progress with Straights and jump head first down that rabbit hole.

Thanks Doug. I have not ridden very much this year. I got the bike out this past Sunday and really had a great ride. I need to ride more often.

Back to the Godrej Lime shave cream this morning. I did at a dropper of the B&M Terrorade to add some chill to the shave. Three passes and touch ups just missed the baby. I managed to miss a spot on my jawline. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.

SOTD WEDNESDAY MORNING, September 2, 2020

Another great shave this morning with two great razors. Both my Feather SS Barber’s Razor and my Blackland Vector were both loaded with Feather Super blades, and both delivered my desired VBBS as they swept away the usual MWF lather. I feel refreshed, clean and smoothly velveteen.

RAZOR: Feather SS (Mug), Blackland Vector (Dome)
BLADE: Feather Super AC (Mug & Dome)
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Rabid Banana Preshave Cube
BRUSH: JR Rosewood Silvertip Badger #378
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat w/ 6 drops of M-Bomb
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Humphreys WH and Osage Rub. Finished with Krampert’s Frostbite AS Splash and Cremo Cooling Post Shave Balm.
