I'm excited to see what you come up with! I learned so much about machining, heat treating, and honing it's ridiculous. I added probing capabilities to my mill and improved my mist cooler. I'm still planning to finish a nice razor later this year. It became obvious I needed to improve my skills and my tools so I paused the project for a while, but I will finish.

However, I wouldn't have done any of it if it weren't for the MAYhem challenge. Great fun!

    Tallow + Steel Kyoto~~Simpson CH3~~Boker Red-Injun No. 101
Decided to refresh the Red-Injun and tomorrow's Portland
    straights.
These edges are still quite good, so I am limiting the stones to a 12K/20k pair.
I did contemplate using an Arkansas Oil stone, but decided to wait until I have more time.
I examine the blade with a lighted, 30x lupe, but honestly, it's quite difficult for me to
discern any changes in the edge during the honing process.
It appears to be mirror-like, but I still see vertical striations, which never fully disappear.
Tallow + Steel was my choice for today's lather.
This is an amazing product, which doesn't seem to be getting much attention recently.
I, too, am a relative newcomer to the brand.
High-quality ingredients and a scent profile that is unique in my den.
    Yuzu is the main scent.

Yuzu is also known for its characteristically strong aroma, and the oil from its skin is marketed as a fragrance.

The pasture-raised tallow base fit right into my wheelhouse.
The soap can be left thick or soupy, but it never loses its integrity.
    I made a semi-loose concoction.
The pillow-like Best Badger applied the lather without the slightest hint of scritch.
Plenty of product for the three performed passes.
Awkward set-down under the nose drew some blood and since I take an 81mg aspirin daily,
    required the styptic pencil.
    Otherwise as wonderful result.
    Post-shave extraordinaire.
Pairing this soap with a scent from my den is not easy, but I think I came up with a
suitable choice. Besides, after a witch-hazel cleansing, there's no more soap scent leftover.

The razor is cool though (as well as all the other shaving goodies you are making!). When we go to Scarborough Faire (missed this year due to Covid), there are several blade smith/forger booths. I could watch for hours. They have items from straight razors to knifes to full blown medieval battle swords and axes. As Bill said, open wallet, watch money fly!

Sudoku puzzles are fun too....but I had so much math in college and 22 years of the technology manufacturing world (B.S. in Electronic Engineering). That stuff of how sand gets turned into silicon to carry electrons, or transmission wave theory.....

    Word games for me now!

This was supposed to be yesterday's shave, but I ended up not having one. Long story and not particularly interesting. Coles notes version- I woke up with a stuffy nose. I had to log an absence at work and try to work at home due to current restrictions on coming in to the office or any sites with any symptoms. I was told to do an online assessment which then informed my I had to go in for a Covid test. That's why I had time for so much posting yesterday...
Anyway, I'm symptom-free today and enjoyed a nice shave. I wasn't completely smooth, truth be told. I'm to blame for sure, as I've done better with this razor. I just don't pull it out enough. It will get a couple days run this month for sure.
Finishing with a Maol splash is always a great idea. Scents are just ok, but the face feel is the best this side of Chatillon Lux.
    Have a great day all!

I solved a problem today-found out that Osage Rub is owned by American International Industries in Los Angeles...same company that now owns Clubman. What does that have to do with anything. The Clubman website includes Osage Rub...in fact that's where I ordered it (OR)from. Makes sense, as I find Osage Rub to be what you might call Clubman-on-Ice.
