    FRIDAY'S SHAVE

    Perfumed by:
    Frances Towle
    [IMG]

Shampoo - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements "Grove"
Bath Soap - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements "Grove"
Razor - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements - Double Open Comb Ascension (316L Stainless Steel Adjustable)
    Blade - [IMG] *5th Shave
Shave Brush - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements - The Solar Flare
Shave Soap - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements "Grove"
Aftershave - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements "Grove"
    Deodorant - Baby Powder
Fragrance - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements "Grove" Eau de Parfum

I wish PAA would bring back the old "aging tree" art they had on their 2016'ish era Grove products. The art on this Year-2019 product just doesn't seem to match the mood of the scent. I like this scent, but black currant tends to go 'off' on my skin for some reason. It always opens great then the scent can turn over the course of hours to a 'meh' scent. I find this more of a Spring/Summer scent with a 'hint' of dank earth/green. I would really like the art on the label to depict a rainy/earthy Spring day, but a Fall depiction is fine too. Just ditch the odd 1950's sci-fi art for this one product. This one should be more about 'nature' to my nose.

***EDIT - 1 pass with extensive clean up. I loosened the razor a quarter turn again and again got a more efficient, very nice shave. I think as the blade gets uses, this adjustment seems to keep it shaving well. So, around shave #3 on the blade start with a 1/8th turn and with shave 4/5 go with that 1/4th turn. I'm starting to really get to know this razor now. It's a fantastic bang-for-buck stainless steel razor. It looks beastly, like something out of a Hellraiser horror movie, but also has some kind of appeal to it. It's an enjoyable razor.

    Date:- 04 September 2020

Pre-shave:- Cold Water straight from the tap
    Bowl/Scuttle:- Captain's Choice
Brush:- Yaqi Sagrada Familia Tuxedo Synth. 24/53mm knot
    Soap/Cream:- Stirling Spice
    Razor/Blade:- Merkur 34C / Voskhod #13 ...... finished
Post/After-shave:- T.N. Dickinson Witch Hazel Astringent mixed into the 240ml bottle with Natural Glycerin (20 drops) & Tea Tree Antiseptic (5) / The Stray Whisker Aftershave Balm (Australian made)

Voskhod has finally lost the edge and was starting to dull on the 3rd pass shave. Overall throughout the shaves, I'm pleased to say around 12 maximum per blade is pretty darn good with the 34C as YMMV.
My next test again with the Voskhod using the EJ 3one6 to see how far Voskhod can reach to the maximum.
