Welcome to the Bakelite Razors Owners Club, BROC for short.

I discussed it with @jimjo1031 and our mutual enjoyment of bakelite razors and he suggested the name.

The purpose of this thread is to:

    1. Show off your bakelite razors in as many photos as you want.
    2. Discuss the different materials used in making non-metalic razors (at least 50% of the head).
    3. Discuss the different configurations available.
    4. Discuss the different handle preferences.
    5. Answer questions of other owners or potential owners.

I'll start it off with today's shave.

I really like my Gillette bakelite, but I've steered clear of anything like a Wardonia for fear that the blades would fit.

There were Wardonias that used modern style blades. This clone also uses them, it's a good shaver.

That Simplex is give a nice little shave; I have one of those as well.

It's not uncommon for a bakelite razor's head to be 50% metal.

I love those lightweight bakelites. For instance this Mulcuto, the metal version of which inspred the iKon 102. The first DE that gave me a shave as close as a straight.
