It’s like anything else, David; practice makes perfect! 5 yrs ago I literally perforated my left cheek with a straight. I didn’t pick it up again for 5 yrs. Now I actually enjoy the experience, albeit with some trepidation in the background.

Agreed, Charlie! My safety razor shaves have definitely improved since I’ve been straight shaving.

A typical, brilliant Charlie post. A highlight of my day.

Thanks Joseph. I appreciate the kind words.

I must confess that I have been on an emotional roller coaster today. First, @MrEE shows everyone this big ugly piece of steel and tells me he's making me a brush handle IN BLUE and that I have to keep it oiled. For crying out loud, it will weigh a TON, and it is NOT maintenance free. I'm a weak, maintenance-free kind of guy!!!! Come on, people. I'm too lazy to strop a straight razor, so I use a shavette. I cried all afternoon, and believe me, it was not from joy.

And then, he spills the tea! He's getting RED ANODIZING DYE and the Danger brush, which was only in my wildest dreams yesterday, may soon become a reality. He dropped hints yesterday about installing a 4th and maybe even a 5th or 6th axis to his CNC machine. It's all beginning to sink in, and I AM SURE this is being done specifically to create a brush handle like none other. It's all starting to come together, and I'm beginning to comprehend the enormity of this moment. Tears of joy have now eclipsed the extreme sadness that I thought would never leave. My humanity and purpose have been restored.

NOW I have to figure out how to cut in line in front of a bunch of ladies asking for those silly make up brushes. Gotta put my thinkin' cap on. Probably won't sleep much tonight until I get a plan together.

Oooops. Sorry if I digressed there for a moment. I hope you and Dr. Mrs. Primo had a fantastic day.

Charlie....the Feather AC DX 'kamisori style' that I use was purchased as a standard Feather AC DX with pearl scales. I removed the pearl scales, then wrapped the handle to cover the hole.

takey-jp2014 was the vendor on d'Bay

Thanks Charlie! The Feather AC DX was an Amazon purchase in early 2019.

The Schick Proline B30 Blades was the d'Bay vendor I listed for David.

    JIC there's any confusion.

Ive had some beautiful shaves over the last month, eventually getting 15 shaves from the BIC chrome platinum. Super impressed with this blade, superb longevity and fantastic sharpness too, just below feather I'd say.

I used bundubeard rooi Afrikaner for 14 of the 15 shaves, and i must say, I've definitely found my new daily driver soap, fantastic slickness in par with my beloved arko, but with an artisan worthy scent.

I tend to prefer tallow based soaps, so I'm super glad that theres a great locally available tallow soap.

I replaced the BIC with a gillette silver blue which i was pretty excited about using because I've never tried that blade, bit unfortunately it turned out to be a dud and tugged horribly, so i replaced it with my go to blade which is the feather hi-stainless after the first use.

This month was also my Fabergé month where i used brut by Fabergé exclusively, and im glad to be using aftershaves again after using balms all winter, but now that spring is here, my aftershaves will get a lot more use.

    Shave 1:
Razor: Gillette super speed flair tip (UK)
    Blade: BIC chrome platinum (1)
    Soap: arko shave stick
    Brush: omega 49
    Aftershave: brut by Fabergé

    Shave 2-15:
Razor: Gillette super speed flair tip (UK)
    Blade: BIC chrome platinum (2-15)
    Soap: Bundubeard Rooi Afrikaner
    Brush: omega 49
    Aftershave: brut by Fabergé[IMG][IMG]

Super shave to start off the new and final school year. I always begin the first day of school with the students with the GLS. Superb three pass shave has let me face velveteen. The EdT just brings it to a whole new level.

    Have a great day gentlemen.
