Thanks Jason! Most likely...mid 50s here.

Funny story.....when the girls were moving from elementary school to middle school. Wifey and I showed 'The Breakfast Club' to them (minus the library scene) a couple of weeks before middle school start. It was mainly to show them the mindsets of all the kids and educators they'd start seeing in a multiple classroom constant shuffle daily routine, and a school of ~850 instead of just a few hundred. Before we did, we gave them a synopsis without giving away the movie fun. They're like....we gotta watch a 2 hour movie of kids in library detention for 8 hours on a Saturday? That's the movie??!!?? Really? Boring! No way they said...... They loved it. Great deterrent on getting detention, even though the movie shows it otherwise. Now it's one of their favorites to dig up on a rainy day, and they're old enough to know the library scene consequences in life.

SOTD WEDNESDAY MORNING, SEPTEMBER 9, 2020

Despite a gloomy start to the day, this morning’s shave was glorious. My son, Ben, is a collector of Japanese straight razors. The other day, one of TSD’s 30DC Crew straight razor luminaries (@Keithmax), shaved with the same razor, the Saito SK3, that I shaved with this morning. Ben had this one mounted and labeled in a frame in his man cave. Let’s just say I worked out a lend-lease arrangement where my automotive tool chest, jacks and blocks are moving to his garage and this razor and several others he’s not using will be migrating my way. Glenfiddich 18 Single Malt definitely loosened any resistance on his part. As far as this morning’s shave goes, I knocked it out of the park! I rarely work on the TR6 anymore, but I do shave everyday, and this razor is magnificent! It’s my first smiling blade straight razor.

What I discovered is that the slightly curved blade made access to the regular trouble spots on my neck much easier. The three pass (WTG, ATG, XTG) mug shave was a delight. Ben demonstrated the rolling X-stroke which I employed on the jasper hone last night to prepare the razor. Apparently he had set the bevel years ago, and all it really needed was a quick touch up on the jasper stone under running water followed by a few strokes on the diamond sprayed bench strop. The shave was smooth, clean and velveteen as was the dome shave, although the Prince shave cream really gummed up the Twinjector blade in my Schick Hydro-Magic safety razor as I tried it on the dome. After rinsing it clean in very hot water, it was Nancy Boy to the rescue. I’ve just about used up that tub, but fortunately another is wending it’s way to me. The result was a matching dome shave that resonated perfectly with my earlier mug shave. All is right with the world here in the Philly burbs! I wish everyone a great shave today and tomorrow!

RAZOR: Saito SK3 7/8 (Mug), Schick Type I2 Hydro-Magic (Dome)
    BLADE: Schick Twinjector (Dome)
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub of the shave surfaces with Argan Oil
    BRUSH: Viking Silvertip Badger
CREAM: Lush Prince (mug), Nancy Boy Signature (Dome)
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with Glyce Glycerin soap followed by Humphreys Lilac WH and Osage Rub. Finished with Chiseled Face Natural AS Splash.

    GEM Jr. Parade
    GEM S/S PTFE (2)
    Semogue 820 Boar
    Vintage Williams Mug Shaving Soap
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue

Another excellent shave with the Vintage Williams. I'm still amazed at the quality lather I get from this decades old puck.
2.5 passes today with the GEM Jr. provided a very comfortable, efficient shave with zero irritation or mishaps.

Hey, is that one of @MrEE's brushes????

    :bounce017::bounce017::bounce017:

Mmm...no...I don't see a serial number on the handle...my bad. At least it won't rust like his most recent creation.

Beautiful shave, Jason. I hope you're having a day free of dumpster fires. :happy088:

There's a great chance of the SSS aftershave and cologne being a repurchase when it's depleted. One small warning, the mix is a reddish brown (like the wood). Can stain a knot or clothing if not careful.

And...while Smitty is known for his lengthy, sometimes off the chart irrelevant diatribes on PAA scent descriptions, the SSS read is educational imo.

Great shave, Jim! That’ an interesting razor design. I was on the waiting list for the Enoch, but it was taking so long I canceled my order. Glad I did, I have more than enough safety razors.
