I can see that, Bill. I don't think there's any middle ground on this one. I'm not a car guy, but I like its styling. I bet rides like a (very peppy) Pennsyltucky farm wagon, though, and it would be hard-pressed to pass a mechanic's shop without making a pit stop.

My Dad had a friend who a purchased a new Gold '67 E-Type with a black rag top. I always thought it was cool. I remember him saying it cost $7,000, which is equivalent to $54,000 today. I was curious, so I checked and found the new F-Type starts at $62,000. I didn't like the looks of it, and I couldn't imagine dropping that kind of dough on anything with four wheels.

when i was a mechanic/apprentice in the early 90s one of my jobs was to start /drive/maintain a black 1970 e type exactly like your pic.it was the most stubborn.miserable,things not working/electronics by Lucas-Prince of Darkness pos i had ever met.it looked stunning..

 

That's why we drive Toyota, Gary. Grandpa cars that only need gas, oil changes, tires, batteries, and a quick wash every year. I've also heard that a silver Camry will blend in with traffic if one makes a bone head mistake.
